Restful Saturday....
I might as well continue with my "restful" series! Day three, post surgery.
Taking a shower this morning was like heaven! I feel like a new woman, actually. No photos of the incision, (be thankful!!) but it is a little bigger than I expected - perhaps 2 to 2 1/2 inches long. It appears to be healing well. I have steri-strips instead of stitches, which is good, and it looks like the surgeon tried to go over an old incision to keep me from having so many scars (I had three of these removed 10 years ago, with two incisions). Still very little pain - really just 'discomfort'.
I am so thankful that this was found as pre-cancer, and am thankful to be healing and not facing chemo and radiation. Blessed. Have to say that, with so many fighting the fight.
We are planning to go to church tonight (4:00 Vigil Mass) at our old church. I'm a little excited and also apprehensive about how it will feel to walk into the old church. Out to dinner afterwards, and a quick run to Publix for some things we need. I will do a little cleaning and (as usual) laundry tomorrow. Back to work and back to normal for me on Monday.
Hope your weekend is going well!! Thanks for stopping by! Peace, love & hugs.

I know you will be glad to be back in your old church. Please dont do too much cleaning, etc. It will be there in a few more days as well. So thankful you are healing well and not in pain.
ReplyDeleteTerri I am so glad to see you have made it through your surgery and are well on the road to recovery. Take it easy and don't over do it when you return to work. Glad there is not too much pain.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that you don't have to go through chemo. We all have someone we loved and lost to cancer. I got a message from Yahoo this morning saying that they had deleted some e-mail addresses that were no longer active. I was so afraid that they'd deleted my brother-in-law David's, whom we lost to cancer a year after our mother died. Thankfully they hadn't. They should ask if you want the addresses deleted, shouldn't they?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Saturday and your return to your old church.
You must have one heck of a doc for him to find pre-cancer. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteSandie, my annual mammogram found the spot. The doctor took it out. Early detection is always the key to survival!
DeleteI hope you step into your old church and feel as if you never left. :-) That's the best feeling.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed my first shower post-surgery too, even though it wore me out ...
Brenda, it did feel like we never left. We were welcomed with hugs and smiles, and have decided to go a few more weekends, then make our decision to leave St. John Neumann and return to Resurrection. It was SO nice!
DeleteI'm glad the healing process has begun and you are doing well and life is back to normal for you soon. Enjoy the last "restful" days you have.
ReplyDeleteHooray for no follow-up treatment!!! Definitely continue to take it easy a bit tomorrow because you will be more tired than you want on Monday. Surgery tends to have those lingering effects on us. I know it will feel good to get out of the house tonight - - and hope you enjoy your church service!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are doing well. That 1st shower always makes you feel better. Don't overdo it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing well and had a chance to get out to church. Don't overdo today.
ReplyDeleteSo thankful you are doing well. Take good care of yourself. Have a blessed Sunday.
