Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain.....
This Saturday started with sunshine! I got outside after breakfast, and cleaned around the pool. It hadn't been done in ages, because of all the rain we've been having. Also because of the rain, there was mold and mildew growing. Not good for the cats or for us. I hosed, bleached, and used a scrub brush - then hosed it all down again. It looked so good.... Then, 2:30 came, and so did the rain.
It wasn't just a rain. It was a gully-washer! We rarely have water standing in the yard, but we had a pond growing out there. I was surprised that we didn't lose power, because there was some pretty fierce lightening and thunder.
We drove to church in the rain, but it had finally stopped by the time Mass was over.
Now, some of you know that I have not been happy with our church. We have been going there for 3 1/2 years. I really miss our old church, but because Joe had some major problems with the former priest there, (Joe worked in the office as the business manager/finance officer) we left. That priest is gone now (finally). It took two years for the Diocese to act. All of our friends keep asking us to come back....
Tonight, we went out for Mexican food, after Mass. There was a table full of folks from our old church, and of course we walked over to say hello. My friend, Fran, said "You know we have two new priests now, and they are great - you guys need to come back". Well, wonder of wonders, Joe actually said back to her "You might see us soon."!!! I almost did a jig going out the door!! In the car, he agreed that we should go back for a couple of weekends and see how it feels. Hooray!! It's been a long time. I hope my hopes won't be dashed. I so enjoyed the women's group there, and just haven't felt welcome at the church we attend now - mostly my fault, I confess, for comparing the groups and missing my friends.
Anyway - we'll see how it goes. Prayers are welcome!
After dinner, we stopped at Walmart for cat food. We forgot about the tax-free week, that started today, for back-to-school clothing and supplies. The place was more crowded than usual, but we made the best of it and got what we needed.
Tomorrow, cleaning, cleaning. I did the outside today, and Joe did the bathrooms (bless him!), so I should be able to make the house presentable in two or three hours.
Hope you had a good Saturday and are headed to a great Sunday! Thanks for stopping by. Peace, love & hugs.

Prayers answered Terri...so glad you are going back to the church you loved and loved going to...glad Joe is agreeable as well. Have a nice evening...I am headed to bed early...not up to par. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are going back! Hope it works out for both of you.
ReplyDeleteNo rain here today - lots of fog this morning but then a gorgeous day.
It will be like going home...how nice that you might be able to switch churches...I'm still looking...it is hard to find a place to fit in. I wish we had a tax free weekend here...it sure would help people with buying items..clothes and supplies for school.
ReplyDeleteI hope you both will be happy back at the old church. Nice that you ran into your friends and they are eager to get you back.
ReplyDeleteI recently tried a new brand of cat food *canned* and just bought it thru amazon. It is Fussie Cat brand. My 6 love it!
I may get out in the tax-free sales tomorrow after Jasmine gets off work. Today the only "shopping" I did was in the group of vendors in a shop that also has a massage therapist. I bought a $5 item to add to a collection I'm putting together for Mom for Christmas. Jasmine got an hour massage and fell asleep!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to return to your old church and find that everything is just as good as you remember it. :-)
Is that big rain because a big tropical storm or hurricane is on its way? Hope not. You must be excited about going back to the church that feels like home. I doubt that you'll be disappointed. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news about your old church. I hope it all works our for you.
ReplyDeleteUgh I hate cleaning but sometimes you just gotta do it. lol Have fun!
It's difficult changing churches, being surrounded by strangers, not feeling welcome. I hope it works out that you get to go back and feel good about the new priests. Hope you're having a great Sunday. ♥
ReplyDeleteI have never really felt at home at the church here so I know how you feel. I'm praying when you do return to your former church that you will find it all you hope for.
