Vinny is home....
Our sweet new boy cat is home from the Vet. He has to wear one of those terrible collars for TEN days! TEN! And we have to keep him quarantined for those 10 days, so the other cats won't bother him. We also have 10-days of antibiotics to give him twice a day. Oh my. I hate those collars and feel so bad for him. It's already a huge adjustment for him, and now we've done this to him. Bless his heart. I won't try to photograph him in his collar. He is still so sweet. He doesn't try to scratch or bite. He is very docile, but so fearful. Sigh.
I worked all day on receipts today, and have to tackle the stack of mail tomorrow. One day at a time. By week's end, I'll be feeling good about my work.
We have some heavy rains coming over the next couple of days, and now there is talk about some tropical weather, too. Not looking forward to a hurricane watch this early in our season (June - November-ish). Glad Joe got home with Vinny before the rain started.
I am back to counting my WW points this week. I gained 5-6 pounds over our vacation. Ate way too much, but it sure was good! Now I'm paying for it. Another sigh.
No other news for today/tonight. Thanks for checking in! Peace, love & hugs.

Poor Vinny. :-( The first time our cat had to wear one of those, I had it on upside down. Poor Tuppence! I was going to ask, 'Why is it so much easier to gain weight than to lose it?' but I guess God made it that way so we wouldn't all waste away and die.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice evening, Terri.
I hated putting it back on him, after we gave him his medicine tonight. I don't know how he can eat and drink with it, but the Vet said they figure it out. Hope so!
DeleteYou know what I think at weight watchers they expect you to gain a few- just hop on back!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat was wrong with Vinny - glad he is home.
sandie
Sandie, Vinny was neutered today, and got his shots. Lots of firsts for our new little sweetie.
DeleteAwww, little Vinny has to go thru alot, but it will be worth it in the end. Praying for your safety if the weather gets rough. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers, Linda, always!
DeleteThey should probably have made my daughter's cat wear one of those collars. His "parts" had not descended so his surgery was more extensive than most males. Long story short - - he pulled out stitches, opened the incision, and had to go back to be super-glued. Then he licked and licked and licked until he made it bleed again. Fortunately he has begun healing well and living a normal life again. The good news for Vinny is at the end of ten days is he will be fairly docile due to decreased hormones.
ReplyDeleteWe are counting on it, Lynda, though he is pretty docile already. He is a sweet boy.
DeleteAwwww poor Vinny. Hope he recovers quick
ReplyDeleteHe will. Thanks, Kim.
DeletePoor Vinny. It sounds awful, but what he's going through right now will make him even more comfortable the rest of his long life. He will forgive you. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd after this week at work, you'll feel more comfortable this coming weekend, knowing you tackled your mountain and won.
I've been watching the weather. I hope that "tropical disturbance" won't be too bad.
You have a good day. ♥

ReplyDelete(left a crucial word out of my first post, so I'm trying again...) My cats' vet never told me to put them in a cone collar after they got fixed. I never even thought of it. Maybe they were too little to damage themselves? I don't know, but they came home groggy but otherwise fine.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing Vinnie on here one of these days!
