Two days early....

The kids will be here tonight!  Thought they would be here Wednesday, but they called last night to say they were leaving and would drive straight through.  We're expecting them around 9:00 p.m.  Glad I got the cleaning done yesterday, and their room ready!  The cats are in for some fun with the two pups that will also be visiting.

I went to see my friend, Shirley, at the hospital, during my lunch hour.  She was just getting up to take a walk, so I walked the halls with her!  She looks GREAT!  The nasal tubes were removed this morning, and she had her first soft food for lunch today.  She is hoping to get to go home Wednesday or Thursday.  The doctors told her that they "got it all" (all the cancer) and that is was caught early.  She isn't scheduled for any chemo or radiation.  Her surgery is being compared to a gastric bypass surgery, so she will be eating smaller meals, more often during the day.  I told her that my prayer warrior friends and I have been praying for her daily.  She said that "I have been feeling the prayers" and she thanks us.

The auditors came today, to begin the preliminary audit work.  I know I have done a good job, so I'm not concerned about anything.  It's just time consuming to be at their beck and call.  They will be there tomorrow, too, but then won't be back until the end of July.

Hope your week started well, and I wish you a good week ahead!! Thanks for stopping in!  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Oh Terri, I hope you will enjoy your company and that the cats and pups get along okay. :-)

Glad to hear that things sound good with your friend Shirley, especially that she will not have to undergo chemo or radiation.

It can be a little disconcerting when people show up two days early, but I know you'll have a wonderful time with them.

  4. Yay for advance preparation! Now you can enjoy your company. :-)

My mom hates when the auditors come. It so disrupts the day and puts her behind in her work.

  5. You and the cats are in for some fun I know. Let's pray that Shirley continues to do well. I'll bet she'll be the envy of her friends, because she'll lose weight. The important thing though is that's she's well.

  7. I think most people feel the same way about the auditors. They have nothing to fear but it does create more work in the day while they are there.
Praise God regarding your friend! Excellent news after a very scary diagnosis.
Yes - - - the pups and cats should make for some interesting blog material!!!

  8. That's good to hear that your friend is doing so well. Praise the Lord. ** You'll be busy the next few days but enjoy this time with the kids. As the years go by our time with them gets shorter and shorter. ** I remember one time when we tried to insert one dog in the same house with one cat. The 2 of them tore up the house... the cat screeching and the dog barking, determined to catch that cat. It was a 3 minute nightmare. :)
Hope your week is all good. ♥

    1. Sandie, Shirley told me that she had chest and back pain. The doctor thought it might be her heart, so they did tests for that and her heart was fine. She asked if it could be acid reflux and the doctor said possibly, so ordered an endoscopy. That's when they saw the cancer. She was so lucky that she persisted and followed up to get more tests!
