Go Ravens!
The "big game" is on. We just finished our cheese-steak sandwiches, so our tummies are full as we cheer for the Ravens, who are ahead at the end of the first quarter. Of course, it is anyone's game....
Joe is on our Church's finance committee. He and another member of the committee were asked to talk at two Masses each this weekend. Joe did our usual 4:00 Vigil, last night, and he went for the 11:00 today. The other man did the 7:30 and 9:00. Our church has four weekend Masses.
When he got home this morning (didn't have to stay for the entire Mass), we hit this house hard with cleaning products. It had not had a good cleaning for weeks, because we both have been so sick with these stupid colds (and my stupid knees). It feels good, sitting here now, in a clean house and with the last load of laundry in the dryer. Ready for a new week to start!
Onyx is doing well. We are so happy to see him chasing Lucy again, and enjoying being outside in the screened pool area. Thank goodness!
This coming weekend, we are heading down to Naples, to spend Saturday and Sunday with Kathy, Jim and grandson, Tristan. Tristan's school is having a fundraiser for the athletic club, and Kathy got Joe a ticket so he could join Tris and Jim. It is a dinner, silent auction, and sports thing with three sports figures (don't ask me who, I don't remember), but one is with the Phillies (Philadelphia's baseball team), so Joe is quite excited - first that Tristan wants him to join them, and second, to see the Phillies guy. Kathy and I get to have dinner together, and maybe go shopping or something. We will leave after breakfast on Sunday. It's another three-hour trip south, but we at least get to stay overnight this time!
Here is the link for the fundraiser, if you want to know who the celebrities are: Baseball & Barbeque
That's all the news I have for now. I hope you have had a good weekend, and are enjoying the Super Bowl, or at least the commercials. My favorite so far is the Budweiser commercial with the voodoo dolls. Pretty cute. I'm sure the Clydesdale commercial will be my most favorite, though.
Peace, love & hugs.

From what I've seen and heard the ads are the most popular part of the Games. I liked that Maxine cartoon about the only Super Bowl she wanted to see was a self-cleaning toilet bowl. Sorry, football fans! I think someone should invent a self-cleaning toilet bowl, don't you?
ReplyDeleteSo glad your kitty is feeling much better and hope he's around for a good long time. Hope you're ready for Monday too.
Brenda, a self-cleaning toilet bowl would be such a blessing! LOL I agree, totally! Maxine is always funny, and right on target! The commercials were great, and I'm sure they are all on YouTube by now. The Clydesdales are the best, but I also loved the Tide commercial and two of the Kia commercials. I was disappointed in the e-Trade baby this time. Wishing you a good week!
DeleteCongratulations on your team winning the Super Bowl! :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good and safe trip this weekend, Terri
.
And now I have to go clean my house so that I can sit in a nice clean house! Actually, we're leaving to go to TX to see our daughter and SIL, and a young family is moving in here while we're gone to take care of the dogs and cat and house. I better get busy!
You are blessed sweet Terri to have a hubby who helps you clean. Mine folds clothes and puts away the dishes which is a big help but he does no cleaning. I have done a little cleaning this morning and will do more before days end. I clean in spurts. lol Glad to hear Onyx is doing well and I hope you and Joe are too. Hugs
ReplyDeleteJoe does the bathrooms, he also helps fold clothes, and he will put away dishes from the dishwasher. He is a keeper! (Just wish he liked to cook!!)
DeleteI checked out the link for the benefit. Wow! That looks like quite an event. I hope you have a great time.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Onyx is doing well. It's hard to see our fur-babies sick.
Thanks Carol. We offered to get Joe's ticket, but they are treating. Actually very happy about that! Onyx is still doing well.
DeleteHi Terri, I'm here catching up with everyone. I have read blogs all the way back to Christmas, so I'm all up to date. I will be posting something soon.
ReplyDeleteI never watch the Super Bowl. My daughter and I were watching a Rugrats (old cartoon from the 90s) marathon! lol But I was rooting in spirit for the Ravens because of The Blind Side and Michael Oher being on that team. I never thought I would watch that movie because I am so the opposite of a sports fan, but it was on TV, and Sandra Bullock was in it, so I checked it out, and I'm glad I did!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds fun!
