Finally Friday!!

We had a call last night, from our son and daughter-in-law, who live in Philidelphia.  They are getting two little dogs (sisters), and wanted to share their excitement with us.  They will be good company for Darlene, since Joey told us he has to go to Kuwait again, for five months.  He'll be gone over the Christmas holidays.  Not sure when he is leaving or will be back.  Joe is civilian Army.  There is always the fear of trouble over there, but he won't be out on the front lines anywhere.  When he was gone the last time, we Skyped with him and actually talked more often than we do when he is home!

This is Zoe (10 weeks old)

This is Brooke (10 weeks old)

Our dinner out, for Valentine's Day, left much to be desired.  Il Forno is a small family-run Italian restaurant and is usually very good, but last night we were both very disappointed in our dinners.  Joe had stuffed shells and I had chicken cacciatore.  The gravy (spaghetti sauce) was very bland.  Something was missing.  It was nice to be out, though.  Enjoyed that!!

Tonight, I think we will give the Knights of Columbus' fish fry a try.  Stay tuned!!

Joe asked Jim (Tristan's step-dad) if his Phillies contact could get us some tickets for a Spring Training game, at the Brighthouse Field, over in Clearwater, where the Phillies train.  The tickets for the nose-bleed sections are in the $50 range!  Yikes!  Last year we saw the Phillies play the Tigers, here in Lakeland.  That was fun, and the tickets were only $22.00, and that included a hotdog and soft drink!  I can't imagine that the stadium in Clearwater would command such a price difference!  Anyway, Jim sent us tickets for a Phillies vs Yankees game, on the 26th!  I was able to get the day off, so I can go too.  The tickets came yesterday, and they are for Premium Box seats!!  Oh my gosh!  Right behind home plate.  Joe is so excited!  It sure pays to 'know someone'.  We will feel like royalty!  The only training game in Lakeland this year, against the Tigers, is with the Phillies "B" team, so Joe was disappointed....but not anymore!

I need to get busy here!  Glad it's Friday!!  I don't think I've gotten six hours of sleep any night this week, so am looking forward to not setting the alarm clock tonight!  Have a good day and weekend ahead!!  Peace, love & hugs.

Skype is quite a tech marvel. In your case, it is a blessing. Hope Joey stays safe.

    1. Thanks (always) for your prayers, Kris!! You know, last year's spring training game was my very first live baseball game. I'm kind of excited about going to Clearwater! This is partly your fault, you know!! ;)

  8. Sorry to hear you dinner was not so good but glad you enjoyed being out anyway. I bet that fish dinner is going to be yummy. I am so fish hungry and have been for awhile now. Those little puppies are adorable. Will keep your Joey in mind and send up prayers for his safety while he is away. Hugs

  9. Thank God for people like Joey who are willing to serve our country but it is so hard on the family being separated. Have that going on with my nephew and his family.

Sorry your dinner out wasn't as good as you expected. Maybe it has something to do with Valentine's day and the huge amount of buisness restaraunts get and trying to keep up with it all, maybe rushed .

The puppies look so sweet and loveable.
    Have a great weekend

    1. Cheryl, I think the restaurant being so busy yesterday was part of the problem. Those of us who cook, know tomato sauce needs to simmer for the flavors to blend. I think they just cooked it too fast. It is usually very good there. Wishing you a good weekend, too!

  11. What kind of puppies are they? or are they mutts? They almost look like Coton de Tulears.

  12. Precious puppies! Yay for premium seats and knowing the right people! :-)

My blog reading list is back to normal. It had been giving me long lists of one person's blogs, saying that months' worth of blogs had been added "seven hours ago." Then I'd look up another blogger, and their blogs were listed the same on my feed. It was very frustrating.
