So, I got to the Clinic this morning, 20 minutes early for my appointment with my orthopedic doctor. Got called to the check-in desk, and they didn't have my appointment in the book. Now, Friday I received my reminder call (always 2 days before), and I had it in my calendar since my last appointment in January. They couldn't figure out how I got a reminder call, when there was no appointment in the book. This isn't just the wrong day - they had nothing at all for me, on any day.
FRUSTRATION!!
They made another appointment for me, on Monday, February 25th. I have to wait another two weeks, now. FRUSTRATION!! I'll keep the card this time, rather than toss it after I put it on my calendar. Not that having the card will get me in to see the doctor, but it will at least prove I'm not dreaming I had an appointment.
I know I'm not crazy. I know I got the reminder call. I know when my appointment was!
I smiled, thanked them, and came back to work.
I'm happy that I have my facial appointment tonight! She changed it from my usual Thursday, to tonight - so she can have Valentine's Day evening, off. Fine with me!! I know this is right, because I kept the text messages between us!! It really is tonight!
Lent starts this week, on Ash Wednesday, and we will begin visiting the Knights of Columbus fish fry on Friday nights. It is a fun thing to do, and the fish is good. For $8.00 we get beer-battered fish, fries, a vegetable, corn bread and clam chowder. Desserts are homemade and are an extra 50 cents each. We always meet people (from church) we know there, so it is a nice social hour. Makes giving up meat not such a sacrifice, however! That's all I have for today, and my lunch time is over. Hope you are having a less frustrating day than I am! I wish you a good Wednesday! Peace, love & hugs.

Why are you going to write an imaginary appointment on your calendar? Somebody screwed up and I don't think it was you! You'd think with computers these things wouldn't happen although I had to hand in a paper at the Town Council this morning, and the desk I was sent to had an unresponsive computer. Well, we'll all be reminding you of your 'next' appointment, Terri.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Brenda!! That's February 25th, at 10:55!!
DeleteHopefully....you won't be charged for a missed appointment. I'm thinking they will find it later and think they can charge you for not showing up...wouldn't that be a kicker!
ReplyDeleteI have witnesses! I know one of the Valet parkers, and got a hug from him as I went in! Let them try!
DeleteSorry about the appointment mix up. Enjoy your facial and those yummy fish fries coming up. Hugs
ReplyDeleteBoo hiss to lost appts! But yay for a facial!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I am so sorry they messed up that appointment for you. I know the facial is restful and relaxing for you and it couldn't have come at a better time. A funny....I went to the Mardi Gras with a friend years ago and we were walking the streets on Wednesday and couldn't figure out why lots of people had dirt on their foreheads....lol I was young...now I know! lol
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible about your appt. That's really horrible that you have to wait another 2 weeks to get in. Hope your facial was relaxing
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That's awful. It sounds like my doctor's office. Frustration indeed. Maybe you should call them on the 24th to make sure they had you in the book. Maybe they'll be more careful from now on.
ReplyDeleteThe fish fry at the KofC sounds like a good time. I've always wanted to go to the ones they have here. It's just a couple blocks up our street.
Hope you have a great day.
You took the appointment mix-up pretty well. I might not have taken it too well--if it were me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading my blog. Menu planning is on my weekly To-Do list, so I blogged about it. Not too interesting; although, it's something we may have in common.
Sometimes I get really angry at the arrogance of petty clerks. They can be quite officous. Doctor office folk seem even worse as they are basking in reflected glory. I complained to our doctor about their curtness and I must have a star by my name now (or an ugly avatar) as they have been super sweet ever since. I am going to steal your Lenten Friday fish thing and present it to the Soup's On meeting as an idea for next year. Thanks.
