Sunday evening....
I've had a good day, today. Slept until 8:30 or so. Joe and I had pancakes and eggs for breakfast, then I got the laundry started. When I said I was going to start dusting, Joe told me to sit and relax. He will be home tomorrow and will get the cleaning done. What a blessing!! I didn't argue with him! ;)
One of my friends here mentioned making chili and I decided it sounded good, so got the hamburger and onions cooked and made a nice pot full of soup. We both enjoyed it, even though we had to put the air conditioning on today. It is hot and humid, and the day started with a fog warning for travelers. Yuck. I do have enough leftover soup for lunch one day this week!
I made some peanut butter candy today. It is a little early for Christmas, but I want to send some north, so needed to get a batch made up. Some people know it as Buckeyes - peanut butter filling rolled into balls and dipped into chocolate, to look like Buckeyes. I take the lazy route, and just press the peanut butter mixture into a cake pan, then put the melted chocolate on top. When it sets, I cut it into squares. It tastes just as good and took a lot less time!!
We have started watching Downton Abbey. Season one is on Netflix, so we have started there. It is quite engaging, and Joe is enjoying it too. Do any of you watch it?
My week will start with a staff retreat tomorrow. We will be away from the Museum and get breakfast and lunch while working. We are getting started on our next 5-year strategic plan, so the work begins. It's always a good exercise and involving the entire staff makes for some good bonding and buy-in. It will be a long day, though.
Our staff Christmas party is Wednesday evening, and always fun! My MRI is Wednesday morning. Thursday I get my hair cut, Saturday I get my hair colored....the week begins and will be up and down, but busy!
Wishing you a good week! Peace, love & hugs!!

Your week sounds more exciting than mine. Tomorrow, I have laundry and general housework to catch up on. Tuesday, we have to pick Brianna up from pre-school. Wednesday, we will Brianna all day. Thursday, we are going grocery shopping. And last, but not least, Friday, we might finish our Christmas shopping.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Diana
Diana, your week sounds pretty busy to me! I'm not sure I could keep up with a pre-schooler!! Bless you!
DeleteI've been hungry for eggs and pancakes too. Now that you have me thinking about them, I'll have to fix some tomorrow morning. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine having the AC on in Dec. I'm wearing a sweatshirt. And we finished off the chili tonight.
I make my Buckeyes the same way. My sister, however, goes to all the work of making several batches the hand-rolled way. Takes her hours. I'll be making my peanut butter fudge next week.
I've never heard of that show you mentioned.
What a sweetie you have there. I've never heard a man say "relax.. I'll do the cleaning". He is a rare breed. lol
It sounds like a very busy week ahead for you. Just take care of yourself. Offering up prayers for you.
Thank you for the nice comment you left on my blog today. I really appreciate you and your kind words.
Whoa.....you make me tired just hearing the things you do....I can only seem to accomplish one thing a day and sometimes it takes me 2-3 to finish. Will be anxious to hear the outcome of the MRI and what is in the future for your knee. Take care of yourself this week, and let Joe help all he can. My Jenn loves Downton Abbey and watches every episode...
ReplyDeleteI'm hopefully getting my hair cut this week too. Everybody I know loves buckeyes and I make 100's of them at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you've got help with the housework. Dusting and ironing have to be the two most odious chores in the house. Hope and pray your MRI gives you and your knee good news.
So glad your hubby is willing to help take care of the housework. I always find it hard to step aside and let someone help, even if I know I need to.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the show.
Hard for me to let go, too, Julie, but it will save my knee so it's pretty easy to do this time.
DeleteSounds like a busy week ahead! How great that Joe will take care of the housework for you! Lauren has season one and two of Downton Abbey and I've watch a couple of the episodes. I really enjoyed it but now I am hooked on the old episodes of Parenthood..LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice that Joe helps you around the house. Are you going to share your pb candy recipe? Sounds yummy
ReplyDeleteCheck my Recipes page, Kim. Look for Chocolate and Peanut Butter bars.
