First day of December..... Oh my!
December is here! Good golly!
We made it to the estate sale this morning, but there was very little left that was worth while. The house was interesting. It looks small on the outside, but is actually 3,000 square feet! It is for sale, but I don't know for how much. It needs tons of work. The kitchen is old, the carpets are a mess, and it smells very musty. It just hasn't been cared for as it should have been. We're not in the market, so it really doesn't matter. I just enjoy looking at houses! If I had the money, I would love buying homes, fixing them up and then "flipping" them. I would rather look at a magazine of floor-plans than a fashion magazine.
We also did a little more shopping and are closing in on "really" being done now. Just have some gift cards to buy yet.
We went to church (Vigil Mass) at 4:00. First Sunday of Advent!! The church is so beautiful this time of year.
After dropping our friend, Al, off at home, we went out for some spaghetti and meatballs at a local 'mom and pop' Italian place. It is good and not too expensive. Came home and finished getting our Christmas cards ready to go. That feels good. I won't mail them until the end of the week, though we did get our first card a couple of days ago.
Planning to sleep late tomorrow, and then get some housework done. Wishing you a good Sunday!! Peace, love & hugs.

I feel the same way when it comes to houses. I like looking through them at the fixtures and layouts. When I worked in the 3 different real estate offices, I always loved it when the agent would let me walk through when they had an open house. We've talked about owning real estate or 'flipping' but it's so costly to do. You have a great Sunday. Don't work too hard. :) God bless.
ReplyDeleteI love the home tours. The Women's Club does one every year, and there are two done by the Real Estate companies each year. Yes, flipping is expensive. You would have to have a tidy sum put aside to even begin to do that.
DeleteThank for your comment. I seem to put so much into planning and trying to follow through with things I want to accomplish that I get lost in the process. Don't we all?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm glad I took the time to let my frustrations out.
Diana, venting is one of the best things about Blogger, and is why friends here are so important!! We've all been there and understand!! You are so right about that!
DeleteDo you watch HGTV? I do, just as if it were a serial. I dont have the opportunity to decorate here, but love seeing others homes, etc. Hope you have a restful Sunday and get caught up on laundry, etc. I am off to church in an hour or two.
ReplyDeleteYes, Linda, I watch HGTV all weekend! Even Joe likes some of the shows!!
DeleteI was just saying yesterday that I used to be addicted to home decorating magazines. Don't think I've ever bought a fashion magazine though. Hopefully I'll get a few more Christmas things out of the way soon. I'll have to because on the 15th we're having a Christmas lunch.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy fashion magazines, either, but do like the floor-plan magazines and HGTV style publications. Good luck with your Christmas shopping. My Christmas luncheon with friends is the 14th! It will be here before we know it!
DeleteI love looking at houses too. I watch HGTV a lot
ReplyDeleteKim, I'm with you on HGTV. Love it.
DeleteSounds like a perfect Saturday! I have a friend who goes weekly to estate sales. She is always on the lookout for Mason jars for me:-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like we all have a lot in common when it comes to houses. My son is an architect...I often wonder if a little of that came from me. I used to sketch rough floor plans and dream of fixing up a home exactly how I want it. I LOVE HGTV and watch it all the time. I love watching it with my son...he usually has great commentary.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention wanting to flip houses. There are some rundown houses in town that Jasmine has said she wishes she could buy and fix, and that had been my secret desire as well! Except, I don't want to do the fixing myself. I'd rather have the money to hire someone to do that. Some of the houses you know were once the pride of their owners. So said to see them fall into neglect and disrepair.
