It has been a good day! I got up and got the rest of the food ready for the luncheon party. Joe vacuumed again and spot mopped. I could not have pulled this day off without him helping.
Lunch was good, and our little gift exchange was fun. They loved the Italian Cream Cake (and so did Joe!).
They all helped to clear the table, and Joe actually loaded the dishwasher! I had all the pots and pans washed and put away before the doorbell rang. It was easy to do while sitting.
I've relaxed the afternoon away. Tomorrow, I have a hair color appointment at noon. In between, I'll be baking cookies - and I can sit for most of that, too.

ReplyDeleteI want some of that. You are lucky to have such a support group of fun friends. I want to steal Joe as Old Man Watching is getting tired of waiting on me. I am trying to figure out how to make my Scottish Shortbread as it takes a lot of down pressure kneading, usually while standing. Usually I make my shortbread in mid November and store it in a cold porch area to "season" and taste richer for Christmas. Oh, now I remember I need to get some Bristol Creme shooting sherry, to have with it. First I have to figure out a way to make the shortbread. I also hope to do butter tart squares and some Nanaimo bars and maybe moose balls. It won't all happen unless this stupid leg loosens up.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time and the food looks delicious. I can tell in the one group photo, by the way you're standing, that your knee is very sore. Maybe you can spend the rest of the weekend with your leg up? Have you tried an ice pack on it to help take down any swelling? You take care.
