A Chilly Day....
We had a 'cold' front come through yesterday, and it was chilly enough to need a sweater today. What a mess my friends and family are having up north! Oh my!! I sure hope those of you stuck in a foot or more of snow are doing okay.
Joe worked for a client this morning, and I spent the morning just being a bit lazy. I switched out some clothes from one closet to another, since it looks like our cooler weather is here to stay now, the summery things can hang in the guest room, and I brought my few sweaters and long-sleeved tops back to the master bedroom closet. I straightened up the guest room, which is where we stored Christmas gifts and did our wrapping. I also cleaned out the cats' toy basket, and put their new ones in it. They won't miss the things I threw out!! :-)
When Joe came home, we took off for Mobility Express. They had a nice little scooter to rent, and (bless them!!) they only charged us for two days. We are to return it on Monday. That cost us a bunch less than we expected. It is lite enough for the two of us to lift it into my car, and the battery will last for eight miles, but is easy to charge.
After that, we stopped for a late lunch at a new restaurant that just opened a couple of weeks ago, called Fat Maggie's. It is a Bar-B-Que place. It was good - not great, but good enough that we will try it again. Then, we stopped at Publix for a few things before coming home.
I am enjoying my week off, and there is more fun to come. My cousins got to Florida yesterday. We talked last night. They are happy with their accommodations just outside the Disney property and are ready for some fun. This is Tia and Tatum's first trip to Florida and Disney. They are the perfect age to enjoy it!!
There are seven of them, and we will have dinner with them tomorrow evening, over in Orlando. Place to be determined, but it doesn't matter where. I'm just anxious to see them all! Sunday will be our day at Legoland with them. Legoland is in Winter Haven, which is the next town east of Lakeland. It is only about 15 miles for us to get there.
Hope you are all enjoying your week and are winding down from the big day. Our New Year's Eve will be quiet, since our nephew and his family are not able to come down this year. We will miss them and all the fun we had last year. One of the girls is sick. :-(
Thanks for checking in! Peace, love & hugs.

Glad you got your scooter, now you can really have fun and enjoy Legoland with family. I got a call back from Dr. and have appt. next Thurs. and possibly an MRI...pain pills til then. We are doing our Sat. thing after all, and I am to sit in recliner and let others do everything. To be honest, I will be glad when it is over, and things are dull again!
ReplyDeleteGlad you heard from the doctor and have some meds to get you through. Nice that everyone wants to continue with the annual breakfast. It will all be over soon enough! Enjoy it, Linda. Your family wants to be with you, and that's awesome!! :)
DeleteLove & hugs.
Enjoy your scooter and have a great time with your family
ReplyDeleteI wrote a long answer and it disappeared as they are asking me to go to a sign in and I skipped it. I am happy you are resting your leg. Mine is getting stronger too but I am still not ready to through away my 'blankie' the last crutch.
ReplyDeleteI mean 'throw' of course and put a comma after 'blankie' please.
ReplyDeleteI remember how much I loved the Mickey Mouse Club when I was little. Those two cuties and their family are going to really enjoy themselves. Hope you have fun on your scooter too!
ReplyDeleteThe word "envy" comes to mind! Wow! Hope you all have an awesome time. We are expecting more snow!
ReplyDelete"Fat Maggie's"? That's cute. The girls are cute too. They are the perfect age to enjoy Disney.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your scooter.
We're getting more snow tonight... 5" expected by noon Sat. Then next week the temps are dropping into the single digits. That is what I do not like one bit. When it gets that cold, my whole body hurts and I wish I was in FL. hahaha
Take care and have a great weekend.
