I am sure having trouble wrapping my mind around the fact that our Thanksgiving is two weeks from today. Good golly!
Is anyone else having an energy shortage? I don't mean gasoline or electricity.... I mean 'get-up-and-go'!! I just have no energy left by the end of my work day. I get home and all I want to do is put my PJs on and sit. I have ironing that needs to be done. I have Christmas cards to get ready. I have gifts to make. I should cook more, instead of having us go out. I should do a little housework each evening, instead of waiting for the weekend..... I need a big energy boost! Help!!
We didn't go to Outback on Tuesday night, but we did go last night and used Joe's gift card. It was good, and one of my coworkers and her family ended up sitting in the booth right next to us. Her kids are so darn cute, and so well behaved. That was fun, ending up at the same place for dinner. It was their daughter's birthday. I'm not sure of the ages, but probably 3 or 4 and 6 or 7.
Before we went to Outback, we loaded up my car with the rest of the 'stuff' from our garage, for the Church's rummage sale. My goodness, they have the whole Parish Hall full of garage sale junk! Bless the ladies who are organizing and pricing. Not something I would volunteer for. I'll try to get a photo this weekend.
My get up and go, got up and went a couple of years ago. I just am not motivated to do things that need doing! We dont entertain anyone except our kids any more, and not even them often, so I guess it doesnt matter. My Mother lived alone for years after Jim and I married, and she would laugh and say it was "her nast" and if she wanted to live in it, it wasnt anybody's business. I guess now it is "my nast"! lol
ReplyDeleteI think I am starting early! LOL I like the attitude, though!
DeleteI've had all kinds of get up and go lately, but I think it's the meds. I'm on...waiting for a crash soon!
ReplyDeleteThere doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done and I feel like you do..no energy! I keep blaming the time change but I should be used to that by now..lol. I love church rummage sales! I find some really nice baskets to use for our gift baskets:-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed your dinner at Outback. I think my energy left with our warm weather. Cooler weather makes me want to watch movies in bed in my jammies. lol
ReplyDeleteOh, yes... I have that energy shortage too. My neurologist told me to take 1,000 mcg. of vitamin B12 each day and that's helped a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe the holidays are approaching so fast. I'm trying to do a bit of shopping online for Christmas. We aren't exchanging gifts because my girls have their own kids to buy for, they don't need to buy for Mom and Dad. But I have to buy for the little ones. It wouldn't be Christmas if they come to Grandma's on Christmas eve and see nothing under the tree.
I hope your Friday is a good one. Take care.
I have the late fall syndrome too. I think we northern hemisphere folk like to store up our wood and food for winter and then hibernate, like squirrels in our nests. However, I have learned that a 40-60 minute brisk walk at the high time of the sun, which here is 1:00 refreshes me mentally and puts me in a better mood. I hate to go out in the cold but it really is good for my mental health and I always feel better afterwards. Then I have a shower and put on fresh pjs for the evening. It fits in with WW too... I signed up to do it online again as I don't want to drive an hour on winter evenings to the meetings in the nearest big town.
ReplyDeleteSo here you are, Terri! :-) Oh how I wish we still had an Outback here. They took it away. :-( Hope you have a good day. I'm still trying to recover from the cat taking over my pillow and giving me a 'crick' in my neck! LOL
ReplyDeleteToday (Friday) is a holiday in Madrid only. It's one of the Patron Saints' Day. I volunteered to give class anyway as we've already missed two Fridays this month. Next year we'll be complaining about the lack of days off. I ate the last of my casserole for lunch, so I don't know what I'm having for dinner. I do most of my cooking at the weekend, and I understand perfectly that during the week sometimes you can't be bothered. I was thinking of making lentils this weekend, but who knows maybe that's one of the courses we'll have in the restaurant tomorrow. It's our monthly get together, or hen party, with those we don't see too often. We're always hoping they'll have our favourite dishes when we go.
ReplyDeleteEven though I worked this afternoon, I was lazy and had a lie-in this morning. I think the fact that it gets dark earlier has a lot to do with our energy level.
Hope your rummage sale is a big success. The reason I initionally mentioned that today was a holiday was to say that people traditionally take flowers for the Virgin and this year they also took food items to feed the poor.
