Saturday Evening....

Good evening!  I'm late getting to my computer today.

Slept in until around 8:30.  That sure felt good.  Hit the ground running, though.  Joe and I cleaned the house today, and I got dinner started early.  We invited Al & Helen to come for dinner, after church.

I had pulled pork BBQ, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and peas (for Al).  Also served a fruit salad, and we had cherry or apple pie with ice cream for dessert.  Nothing fancy, but it was good, if I do say so myself.

Feels good to have the cleaning done.  Tomorrow, laundry - and I am finally going to try making Joe his Italian Creme Cake.  The special vanilla came this week (had to order it), and we got some Italian Cherry Liqueur at the wine & spirits store last night.  My fingers are crossed that I wrote everything down that I was supposed to, and that the cake turns out good.  Yes - a full report and photos will follow.

ON this third day of being thankful, my installment (which can also be found on the named page....) is:

On this third day of November, I am so very thankful for my dear husband, Joe.  He helps me clean the house (usually the bathrooms, bless him) and he runs errands all over town for me.  Today, he even took my car to put gasoline in it for me.  Blessed, I am, for 27 1/2 years!!

Hope you have had a good Saturday, and I wish you a good Sunday.  Peace, love & hugs.

  1. Your dinner sounds delicious. Those are the kind of meals we like too. Especially the pies. :)
Ahhh, Joe... bless his heart. Usually the bathroom is the one room my husband won't touch when it comes to cleaning. So he leaves that pleasure to me.
    You have a good Sunday.

  4. Was that pulled pork in the crock pot? I've got mine on now with just chicken that I want to use in other recipes, and everything smells delicious.
I've said before that Joe is a keeper. Good luck with your cake. I've always found that the first time I make something it turns out better thsn the ones I make in future.

    1. Yes, it was in the crock pot. Yum. I hope you are right about the cake. I am procrastinating, because I am afraid it will be terrible. Sigh.
