I voted by mail last month, and am happy to have avoided the long lines today. Two of my co-workers waited in line over two hours this morning.
All we can do now is wait for the results. Of course, I'm hoping for a landslide to the right, which is what some are predicting, though I'm not holding my breath (so to speak). I don't even want to think about this taking weeks and weeks to sort out if it is close. It will be what it will be, however, and there isn't much we can do about it now but hope for the best.
I'm working on bank statements at work, and the main checking account, with all the credit card receipts (from two different merchants and five different machines!) drives me crazy. Nothing is easy like it used to be. Sigh.
I am leaving work a bit early, as reported yesterday, to get my hair cut (or just trimmed...).
Joe won a gift card to Outback last week, at his accounting meeting. Nice. We aren't crazy about Outback, but it's okay - especially when we have a gift card!! Maybe he'll be up for that tonight. We finished the weekend's leftovers last night, though there is still one big chunk of Joe's cake left. I told him it was all his. The whipped cream was still fine, and the cake is actually better now that the flavors have soaked in some more. Yum!!
Not much else to report. Our day here started with rain, but the sun is shining now and it is 75 degrees. We had to turn our air conditioning on last night, after a week of lovely cool temperatures. It got hot and humid yesterday. I'm over hot and humid, so hope it is gone for a few months!
None of our regular shows are on TV tonight, because of the election results, so we will find something to watch on cable. I don't think I can stand hours and hours of commentators repeating themselves. It will be well into the early morning hours before we really know for sure, I think.

This is Julie. This crazy place won't let me post under my account. I voted today too and have spent the day praying for God's intervention in our country.
ReplyDeleteHa! Well, there I am! That was different. ;)
DeleteI'm sure I'll go to bed without knowing who the President is. There will be a special on TV later tonight, but I won't stay up to watch it.
ReplyDeleteSo,only one piece of cake left! You'll have to make it again.
Bob and I voted this afternoon. I didn't figure we'd have to stand in line for any length of time, being we live in a small town, but we were shocked. I've never seen a turn-out of voters like we did today. It made me feel good. I just hope they were all Republicans. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's good Joe's cake has held up so he can enjoy one more serving. Right now I would welcome hot and humid. I'm in socks and a sweatshirt and I'm still cold. But it's hard to type with mittens on. Have a good evening.
I've never been to Outback. Hope it is yummy. Have a great night!
ReplyDeleteHope you made it to Outback. I like the blooming onion and the soup there, but we dont go often either. I know your curly locks look good. I have felt better today, and actually got enough energy to do a few things around the house. Let's just hope the election comes out the right way. In any event, God is still in control.
ReplyDeleteA dinner at Outback sounds so good! Congrats to Joe for winning the gift card!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love your background!
ReplyDeleteI was at a Christian Study (about the history of Christianity in Caucasian society) when a member of our church poked his head in the door and said Obama was at 275. None of it makes sense to me. You say right and I think that may be Republican but I don't know what either candidate's party is. That is very negligent of me as your President has a lot of influence in the world, if not as much as when I was a child. We in Canada watch the news and await what either choice will mean to us.
ReplyDeleteYes, Karyn, "right" is republican. I am very fearful for our country these next four years. I'm so sorry that gay marriage and birth control was a bigger issue than no budget for three years, trillions in debt to China, and a man and woman in the White House who think they have carte blanc to vacation and entertain on my hard-earned money. It seriously scares me. I'm sorry for our grandchildren and what they will be strapped with. But, it is what it is. All I can do is take a deep breath and keep praying.
