Some weeks, Friday can't get here soon enough, and other weeks....BAM, it's Friday already!! This is one of those "BAM" weeks. Seemed to just fly by for me.
The banquet, last night, honoring this year's Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, was very nice. Dinner at the Yacht Club is always delicious. There is a photo of the menu below, but it is hard to read. Our choices were tenderloin, lobster, or a vegetarian dish. Joe and I both had the tenderloin, and it (seriously) melted in your mouth.
My phone doesn't take great photos when the light is bad, but this was our view of Steve and Linda during their acceptance speech.
My seat, and the beautiful flower arrangement!
This is a view of Lake Hollingsworth, from the dining room window. So pretty!
The menu.
Steve and Lynda, with their beautiful glass art "award".
I am having lunch today, with my friend Shirley. We are going to the Butterfly Bistro. I haven't seen Shirley in a few weeks, so it will be good to catch up. An old friend of mine, Diana Simmons, owns the Bistro. It has always been her dream to have a little restaurant, and I am so happy for her that she is realizing her dream! Our newspaper did a story on her a few weeks ago. Here is the link, if you are interested: http://www.theledger.com/article/20120524/ENT/120529741
We don't have plans for the weekend, other than visiting some consignment shops, looking for end tables and a coffee table for the living room. Of course, Church, cleaning, and laundry - the usual. This is the weekend of Lakeland's Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival. Joe and I have never gone to it. I like old cars more than he does, I think. He said he wasn't interested in going, so we will shop for tables! If you like classic cars, though, Lakeland is the place to be tomorrow (Saturday). Here is yet another link from our local newspaper and the story about the classic cars: http://timeoutpolk.com/article/20121017/ENT/121019413/1308/ent
Wishing you a good weekend, everyone! Peace, love & hugs.

Wow! Looks like you have had an incredible time. No wonder time went by so fast,,,you know the saying, "When you are having fun time flies" The table looks elegant so do the people and the view very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link I am heading over :)
Cool link my husband and I like to go to auto shows I love the classic cars
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a lovely evening at the dinner. The room is so pretty. Congratulations to Steve and Lynda.
ReplyDeleteI love the old classic cars. Occasionally we'll get the different auto clubs around here to have a 'cruise in' and Bob and I will go out to see the old cars. It's fun. We always pick a favorite and talk about its history on the way home. :)
You have a great weekend.
The entertainment, the menu, and the nice people made for a very good evening. I will check out the links after I post here. Hope you find the tables you want for your new furniture. Have a good weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteI agree..BAM! It's Friday already! The banquet looked amazing! We are huge classic car lovers. We used to own a 1965 red Mustang. It was fun taking it to shows and cruises:-) When Walt was laid off we had to sell it. I told him the other day that if we ever buy another classic car I would love to get a classic pick-up truck. Have fun at lunch with your friend! I'm off to check out the newspaper links. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteKris! Come down for this event next year, and get that truck at the auction! Fun!! T.
DeleteI love looking at your links. It sure seems that you live in a wonderful, wonderful place. My weekends plans are usually the same too. Hopefully I'll finish getting my winter clothes in order.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, Lakeland IS wonderful. We love, love, love it here. I recommend it to anyone! Come be my "in person" friend!! We'll have a blast!
