Four Seasons, Four Questions

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4...

1. Do you have a favorite day of the week, and how about a favorite month of the year? Why?  I'm retired, so Fridays don't mean quite the same thing they used to mean as the end of the work week.  I often say I have six Saturdays and one Sunday, so I will say Sunday, since I go to church and worship with fellow believers.  I have wonderful friends whom I fondly call my church family.  As for a favorite month, dare I say December, since it is my birthday month and also the month we celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus.

2. What’s the most beautiful or magical thing about each of the four seasons?  I live in Florida, so our seasons run together.  We do notice differences, but not like those who live north of Florida.  We are green all year and can grow things all year.  All the seasons are magical to me!

3. Summer is coming... what does this mean in your life? How will things change, stay the same, etc?  The AC will run all the time, and I will make sure to get out early if I need to be outside.  It is also hurricane season (June 1 - November 30) in Florida, so we watch the weather news with more attention than during non-hurricane months.

4. What do you look forward to in each season?  Not sure how this question is different from those above.  I look forward to cooler temps and less humidity during our winter months, which I consider November - February.

Peace and Hugs!

For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.

  3. Summers can be difficult but as with most obstacles, you have to find a way to work with it and not fight it! lol

  5. I enjoy Sundays, too. But I answered with Monday. Decades ago when I worked it was Friday! Honestly I enjoy every day!

  6. Actually, the older we get, every day is a gift! But I still love Sundays. However, I love Saturdays too. And Friday always seems special even though I no longer work. I still find myself wanting to go out to eat on Friday night or have pizza. We rarely go out to eat at night anymore...opting to go for lunch when it is less expensive and less crowded. Some of the benefits of being retired. I enjoyed your answers.

  7. I'm glad i'm not the only one who found the questions to be redundant. There coud have been some fun ones that are seasonal related: fave clothes for each season, fave foods, fave activities. Oh well! I could never live in Florida. I LOVE having fresh air and windows open. We use our central air only if the upstairs gets above 88 and there's humidity higher than 60% so for most of the summer it's off except a few random high heat and humidity days.

I hope you don't get bad hurricanes this year!

  8. Saturday's are my favourite day as it's when my family are mostly home and November is my birthday month and I like the build up to Christmas before it gets crazy.
I love the sound of it being warmer in Florida but not the sound of the hurricanes. Eek!

  9. I feel the same way about Sundays, Terri! My birthday month (March) no longer brings the excitement it once did, so I'm choosing November. Our oppressive heat and humidity is gone; and in its wake comes the indefinable magic of holidays. (I'm never too old!)

  10. What days of the week we like does change as we age. I think I will pick Mondays. Everyone back to work and I have time to feel grounded again.

  11. I enjoyed your answers. I always laugh when I tell people "have a good weekend" and they're retired. Many will say, every days a weekend when you're retired. I suppose that's right.
