Backing up to last Thursday morning, we walked first thing, then I went to Bible study. The Mas Verde dinner group did not meet on Thursday evening. I was the only one who wasn't traveling and was not in the hospital. Larry did get home from the hospital on Friday. Not going out was okay. I saved the cash and had plenty to eat at home!
On Friday, I got to the post office to mail my sisters' birthday gifts. Patti was born on June 1st, and Tammy on June 5th. We still do little birthday gifts... a sister thing.
Susan asked the walking group if we would like to get our steps in on Saturday at Lakeland's Farmers' Market. YES! Sharon is busy with family, but Sandy, Susan, and I all enjoyed our time together. We had the Kettle Corn vendor take our picture!
Saturday was the Memorial Service for Anne's husband, Paul. They are from the Syracuse, NY, area, and she is up there with the kids for the service. Anne called to tell me how beautiful the service was. They had a Mass, and lots of people she hadn't seen in years came to honor Paul. They saw former ball players, from when Paul coached Little League, quite a few of his former co-workers came, as well as many other friends and family. They had a dinner planned for 50, and there were just under that many attending the dinner. She sent me this picture of her with the three kids. She felt very good about the service, and the best part was that so many came to honor Paul. She is staying for a while yet, but knows we miss her!
Mas Verde is having a residents' potluck at the clubhouse today, but I didn't sign up for it. We are walking first thing (like always), and then I am just going to enjoy a day with nothing to do. I may go shopping, or not. I might even take a nap!! LOL
Thanks for your visit! Have a blessed day and week ahead!

I have been taking daily naps, it's good for the soul, lol. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you, Terri.
ReplyDeleteA blessed Memorial Day to you. It is good to pause and remember those who gave their lives, and also the families who still carry that loss.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad Larry is home from the hospital, and it sounds like Paul’s memorial service was a beautiful and meaningful tribute.
Enjoy your quiet day... sometimes a day with nothing planned is exactly what we (I) need. Peace and hugs to you too.
I like the pic of you with the walkers - they look familiar! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad Paul's service went well and Ann was blessed with people honoring him.
We are having a quiet day too. We're leaving soon to go to a walking trail and then will do whatever strikes us at home (maybe a nap for us too!). Bob is grilling burgers for supper.
Enjoy your day!
So good to hear that Paul's service was well-attended by those who knew and loved him, Terri. May your Memorial Day be blessed!
ReplyDeleteHope it is a blessed day for you!
ReplyDeleteI lay down in the afternoon and close my eyes. Some times I will drift off but most of the time I just twilight and that's enough to refresh me. Wow that's a big farmers market. I don't care for our farmers market here because its 98% crafters and information booths that I see at every local event. I go for the fruits and veggies but there's only a couple of booths. Crazy since we have farms all around us, so we now just drive out to the farm to their roadside stands.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this beautiful day, anyway you want because you can do that!
Happy Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteThat is great news Larry got home from hospital and how cute that you and your sisters send each other birthday gifts. It looks like you had fun at the farmers market.
That is lovely that the service for Paul went well.
Have a nice day! I sure would enjoy that farmer's market...it is huge!! Fun way to get those steps in:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Memorial Day! I'm so glad all went well for Paul's service. I know it means a lot to Anne and her family. I loved going to the Famer's Market with you and Sandy! I'm so excited about my lavender plant I bought there. I think I'll need to repot it though. Happy napping!
ReplyDeleteNice to go walking at that huge farmers market. And a great turn out for Paul which is nice.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Memorial Day.
That Farmers Market looks so terrific! We've a seasonal market (each Tuesday, May-August), but it pales in comparison. Now that it's being held at Village Green I may have to put on my big girl panties and resume walking laps.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this update on Paul's service. I'm so glad Ann feels welcome to reach out to you this way.
Your blog helps 'His truth to march on' with the clean content and positive opinions about how to handle life.
ReplyDeleteA nap sounds lovely. I had one of those this weekend and it was very nice. I have reached that age where sleep can be elusive at night. Pooh.
ReplyDeleteThe Farmer's Market looks like a wonderful way to get your step in!! Condolences on the loss of you friend Paul, it's nice Anne is keeping you updated.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, dear Terri! I absolutely love farmer's markets! We have a few here in Montreal and the fresh vegetables, meat and cheese are so good! I really try hard to not take a nap during the day because if I do, it 99% of the time will guarantee I will not sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteI will, however, lie down for an hour or so on a day that I am not feeling well or when I am really tired.
I love Farmer's Markets! Mark took a Memorial Day nap yesterday, but for some reason, I could not go to sleep! We had a laid back day, too.
