I sure wish that when Mondays roll around, I would have an amazingly exciting weekend to "muse" about with you here! It's been a while!
I walked with my walking buddies on Friday morning. They all had something to do on Saturday, so I took a pass and slept in as late as the cats would let me (maybe 30 minutes longer than usual).
Church on Sunday.
Okay. I did cleaning on both days. The guest room is ready for company. I did laundry. I got my bedroom cleaned under and around the bed because my new bed is coming today!! There was cat hair under my bed that could cover a naked cat. How does that happen?! My excuse is the king-size bed and a very heavy TempurPedic mattress (over 100 pounds!). I just can't move the bed by myself (and there really isn't room to move it anyway).
I washed all of the old bedding and all of my new bedding. I'm going from a king-size bed to a queen-size bed. There is a queen bed in one of my guest rooms, but it is green. My room is blue. No mixing!! That's my excuse (but it really doesn't matter). LOL (My second guest room has two singles.)
I have to go to Publix for a prescription refill today. Of course, with my company coming, I have a few more foodie things to get. Jo Anne, my sister-in-law, will be here around dinner time. She is with her son and daughter-in-law, up in Tallahassee right now. She rented a car and is driving down from there. It's about five hours, if the traffic is good. I'm looking forward to catching up with her and her kiddos.
This was two years ago, at Mike's wedding. L-R, Mom of the groom Jo Anne, Mike, bride Megan, daughter Sara, Ezra in Mathew's arms. Ezra is a big brother to Andrew now. We aren't allowed to post pictures of the littles. They are adorable, however!
My friend and neighbor, Anne, is doing okay. She is a little rattled with all the paperwork that goes with losing a spouse, but those of us who have been there know that it all shakes out and gets done. It's hard, though. She is going to New York for a bit, and Paul's service will be up there, where all the family is. Her daughter is flying down so she can go back with her. Her three kids are taking good care of her.

Now, see, I want a King bed size, lol. We have a Queen and let me tell you, someone is a bed hog, LOL. Wishing you a beautiful day, Terri.
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh with your comment about the cat hair. They do let you know they were there!
ReplyDeleteGlad Ann is doing ok and her kids are being a good support.
Have fun with JoAnne!
Thanks for catching us up on what's going on in your life, Terri. I'm glad you're going to get to spend time with your sister-in-law; that's a lovely photo from Mike's wedding, too! I'll continue to pray for Anne. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhen we had a cat, we always laughed that we could build another cat with all of his hair!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your bed is a divan type bed that reaches to the floor. All our beds are metal framed and the frame is probably about 8 inches off the floor. It means it's easier to clean underneath them but it also means you HAVE to clean underneath them, especially with wooden floors. The way dust accumulates is scary lol. I also had to check out sizes - your Queen is the equivalent of our King. We don't really do Queen, just standard, King and Super King. Anyway.....I'm glad to hear Anne has family who are taking care of her. It is a lot to do when someone dies. Here we have a "do it once" system for all things related to government but there are so many other organisations to notify etc. Have a good week Terri.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear Anne has a good supportive family to lean on these days. Hope you like the new bed, downsizing just a bit will give you a little more space to enjoy. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same here, we never do much over the weekend. It's all about relaxing and recharging for my family. It sounds like you had a busy weekend. All of our bedding was washed too. Have a lovely time with your sister in law.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Lifting Anne up in my prayers. I hope you enjoy your new bed plus your company, Terri.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy (and a little envious) about your new bed, Terri! I've found making a queen size by oneself is so much easier than a king. Pretty sure my old "no-name" set deserves putting out to pasture, but there's more pressing stuff on the agenda. It's always something!
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams!
Dear Terri, I am sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Keep Anne in my prayers. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are going to have fun with your SIL. I am glad you got a new bed - and a queen size is perfect. Glad Ann has you. Glad you caught up with us.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a lot of cat hair haha!
