Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 647
2. Are you afraid of heights? No, I am not. When was the last time you found yourself dealing with a height, and did it make you nervous? I really don't remember, unless flying last July counts. Can't get much higher than 30,000 feet!! I was not nervous.
3. What's a word you struggle to spell on a regular basis, and sometimes need to double-check before writing it down? I am a terrible speller, so that list would be a long one. How about accommodation? Use the word in a sentence that tells us something about your April calendar. My home will once again be a place of accommodation, with another loved one coming to visit!
4. Love 'em or hate 'em, with Easter comes the sweet treat known as Peeps. So... do you love 'em or hate 'em? I don't hate 'em, but I also won't be eating any of them. Speaking of peeps, what's your favorite way to have chicken? I really miss my Granny Kelly's fried chicken. The Colonel, Popeye, and Publix don't hold a candle to my Granny's fried chicken. I think it's lard. The difference is frying it in lard.
5. This week's Hodgepodge lands on the first day of April, which happens to be National Poetry Month. Do you like poetry? I like simple rhymes, but don't seek them out. Share a favorite line or two from one of your favorite poems. What makes this one a favorite? I don't have a favorite poem. I do have quite a few favorite hymns, though. See below...
6. Insert your own random thought here. I went to the eye doctor yesterday. Everything was good... all of the pressure stuff and looking at the nerves, etc. My cataract lenses are still clear. Nice to hear that! My prescription changed a bit, but I can see fine, and my glasses are sturdy and not scratched. I haven't decided about getting new ones yet. My insurance only pays every two years, so this year would be on me. We'll see.

I don't go back to the eye doctor until September but I need new glasses. I didn't get them last year because the change was so minimal and hubs needed new but I'm regretting it now. My insurance won't pay before September so I'm hanging in there. Enjoy your company and happy Easter to you!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of heights! High bridges are what get me.
ReplyDeleteMarch was wonderful, so enjoyed spending time with you.
Happy April!
I wouldn't say I'm afraid of heights, but neither am I the girl who used to love rope climbing in Physical Ed!
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to make an eye doctor appointment but keep putting it off and buying Dollar Tree readers. Thanks for the nudge!
Blessed Assurance is the best poem ever! I've humming it right now
I'm happy to hear that your eye appointment went well, Terri. And Blessed Assurance is one of my favorite hymns, too. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteYour answer to the first question did make me smile. You really did have a good month with friends.
ReplyDeleteAccommodation is a tough word to spell, I always get confused whether it needs the double M.
That is great news that all went well with the eye doctor.
Dear Terri, I am so glad your eye appointment went well. I had an appointment with my optometrist last week and she prescribed a slightly stronger pair of glasses, which I went to get today. My cataracts are getting larger.
ReplyDeleteSo my ophthalmologist will probably recommend surgery at my next appointment, which is in about 7 months.
Thankfully the cataracts are progressing slowly.
I'm not afraid of heights but I do respect it. My mom had quite a few phobias and as a child I would observe those panic attacks and just decided I didn't want those fears.
ReplyDeleteI'm overdue for the eye doctor. Now I'm feeling the tug...thanks, Terri! 😏
I know what you mean about waiting for glasses. Jeff and I both have been talking about eye appointments and well, Mom too. I finally got some glasses for night driving, but doggone it I think mine are gonna need more before the time is up too. I know Jeff is going to need them. I guess we get used to just not seeing as well as we would like. Another quirk of aging.
ReplyDeleteI like real chickens can't say I like PEEPS. I'm waiting to get new glasses too! I do not like heights. Again, you have been busy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your answers. I love good fried chicken
ReplyDeleteGlad the eye check went well Terri.
