Hello December!
Hopefully everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving and you may be looking forward to Chanukah and Christmas both of which are December 25th. Chanukah is the day the temple, which had been desecrated was rededicated and the huge light within was restored to earth! That light represented the presence of God on earth with man. Also winter begins in just a couple of weeks....
1, Do you have plans for the coming holidays? Not tied down yet, but I'm hoping my sister will be here and neighbors have accepted my invitation to join us for dinner.
2. What foods do you look forward too during these upcoming holidays? I always do ham for Christmas and look forward to that. Red velvet cake is a family tradition, too.
3. Are there traditions for the holidays that you look forward to each year? Also, how do you spend the days ahead of the holidays.. shopping? Cooking? Listening to Music> Hallmark movies? Do tell!!! I look forward to the Christmas movies, to cookies, to fun with friends and family. I don't do much shopping, I enjoy the cooking. I do not like Hallmark movies so they won't be on my TV. I listen to holiday music in the car but rarely have music on in the house.
4. What advice can you give for making the holidays memorable and bright? Spend them with people you love and don't let them make you anxious because that takes the fun away. Concentrate on love and making memories.

During all my cleaning out, I found pictures of Joey and Jeff with Santa. There are 12 of them and they are all precious but I wanted to share just one. I didn't know them then, but still love that they had this tradition growing up. This is from 1973.
Oh, little town of Bethlehem...

What a sweet photo of Joey and Jeff! Christmas truly is all about family, and I'm missing so many of mine already. Have a blessed day, Terri!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that photo of the boys! I think Joey sure resembles his dad.
ReplyDeleteWe pay for Amazon Music Unlimited, but half the time forget to even ask Alexa. I may relocate 'her' here to my office so 'she' doesn't interfere with Tom's TV.
Game plan is to Christmas at Troy and Lois' this year, but Tom's talking about doing a rib roast on Christmas eve ... who am I to argue, lol!
Your statement, "Spend them with people you love and don't let them make you anxious ..." is so true. Red Velvet cake -- I should either make one or buy one (cupcakes, perhaps).
ReplyDeleteYour plans sound so great. We are sharing our Christmas dinner with a friend who will be alone also. Such a cute picture of the two boys. Somewhere (and who knows where) there are pictures of me and my sister on Santa's lap. I'm the one smiling and she's the one crying.
ReplyDeleteAww - love the photo of the boys.I hope your sister can come!
ReplyDeleteWe are planning a weekend trip to our son in KY, then then girls will come to us on either Christmas Eve or Christmas day.
