The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thanks to our hostess, Joyce, for today's Hodgepodge!!  You can join in HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 578

From this Side of the Pond

1. What was your favorite part about growing up in your hometown?  Millersport, Ohio, still has less than 1,500 people inside the town limits.  We knew our neighbors (and everyone else in town).  It was safe and friendly and life-long friendships were born there.  I am still a "small-town girl" on the inside.

2. Do you prefer 'material' gifts or 'experience' gifts? If you answered experience, tell us about one you've received and truly enjoyed.  I don't think I've ever had an experience gift before but I'm sure I would enjoy it.  I am pleased when someone gives me a gift of any kind because they were thinking of me.  Always nice but never necessary.

3. Is brown a color featured prominently in your home decor?  Yes, two dark brown leather love seats.  Your wardrobe? I have two or three pairs of brownish slacks.  What's a favorite brown thing you own?  My love seats, I guess.  Of the brown foods listed here which one is your favorite and/or most often consumed... brown sugar, brown rice, pretzels, coffee, dates, cloves, German chocolate cake, whole wheat bread? I like all of those. I have coffee every morning.

4. Which 'Charlie Brown' character do you relate to most? If you're not sure, you can take a fun quick quiz by clicking here- Which Charlie Brown Character Are You?  or the one found here-Charlie Brown Quiz. I got the same answer on both.  I took the quizzes and the first gave me Charlie Brown.  The second gave me Marcie.

5. What's a favorite item you've purchased this year? Dare I say new floors?!! LOL

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I placed a good-sized order with  Kroger delivery last night.  Turkey and everything I need will be delivered tomorrow.  Thanksgiving will be nice, but there are only four or five of us around the table this year.  More leftovers to share!!

Peace and Hugs!

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One;
Give thanks, because He’s given
Jesus Christ, His Son.

  1. I'm a small town or a county girl. I wouldn't want to live in a big city.
Last year our daughter gave us a membership to the botanical gardens here in Grand Rapids, which was an experience gift. It let us wander through whenever we wanted and we've enjoyed that.
No coffee for me, but I do like chocolate cake.
    I got Marcie!

  2. Brown is a color I love for furniture and floors, but not a color I can wear. My experience gift was on one birthday when Danny surprised me with a trip to the Georgia Aquarium where I actually swam with the fish, sharks included! Once was enough - LOL! Blessings, Terri!

  3. Yesssss to #2 -- exactly. How blessed are we!
I'm embarrassed to admit how much brown I have -- both in the way of furnishings and clothes. Not sure why, but the color itself feels warm, like a hug.
Thanksgiving's going to be here before we know it! Hugs!

  4. I am Charlie too!!! We are heading to Ohio for Thanksgiving - Cincinnati. You got an experience gift when you married Charles. I know you are thrilled with your floors. I have to admit the only thing I like brown is coffee - but I use cream! Who are you having for Thanksgiving?

    1. I don't know who Charles is. Good friends are joining me for Thanksgiving.

  5. We have brown love seat recliners (two of them, which is seating for 4). LOVE them and often fall asleep in mine because it's soooo comfortable. As for the Peanuts question, like you, I am a "Marcie." I remember taking this same quiz about a year ago and was "Marcie" then, too.

  6. Your brown recliner love seats sound comfy. We sat in brown recliners at the theater today! It was too comfy for hubby...I am afraid he slept through a good bit of the movie. It probably wasn't his kind of action movie, but the rest of us enjoyed it. I'm glad you have good friends joining you for Thanksgiving. It looks like it will be our immediate family and maybe one couple from church, but that is still not certain. Either way, we will be thankful and enjoy the day. I haven't taken the Charlie Brown quiz. Maybe I should. Have a lovely rest of your week!
