Bath Time
There is something lovely about a nice hot bath on a cold autumn night after a busy day isn't there?
Growing up our home had an old claw foot tub and I loved to fill it to the brim and sit there until my toes were like prunes.
Can we discuss the secrets of the bath?
1. Do you take baths or showers? Is there a reason you prefer one to the other? I shower. It's been years since I sat in a bathtub. Showers are faster. Soaking in a tub has never appealed to me at all.
2. Once a day shower or bath or do you have a different schedule? I shower every morning. If I've been working and got dirty or sweaty, I will shower again.
3. What are your favorite soap and shampoo? I use Dove soaps because a dermatologist told Joe to use Dove and I haven't switched. I use Garnier hair products for curly hair.
4. Back in the day many loved Jean Nate spray after a bath. My mom enjoyed Avon's Skin so Soft.. what do you like in the way of skin creams, oils or sprays? I use Neutrogena face moisturizer with Factor 30 sunscreen. No oils or sprays.

Dove is a good soap. I used to use it until I started using the Goat's Milk Soap. I remember my grandma used to use the pink dove soap, and I loved smelling it. My mother would only use the Gold Dial Soap, which really was too harsh for me as I got older. But it worked for her and she was beautiful, so I guess it all depends on one's chemistry! Everyone's skin is different, that's for sure! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI love the scent of Dove. My skin is very oily so it does not suit me but, it's great on the hands I think. Growing up my mom always bought Cashmere Bouquet and we didn't have a shower, only a claw foot tub. When I finally got to use a shower I fell in love!
ReplyDeleteHi Terri! We use Dove soap for the same reason. At one time I used oatmeal bar soap, most of them were scented in different flavors, I loved them. But alas, I guess my skin didn't.
ReplyDeleteIt's been ages since I bathed in a tub ... showers just seem cleaner, ya know? That's interesting about Joe's doctor recommending Dove. That's what I use, in part because of the wonderful coconut fragrance. I've tried so many facial creams, but keep coming back to the original (no frill, lol) Oil of Olay.
