Monday's Weekend Recap...

 Gosh, Mondays roll around fast.

I didn't go out on Thursday with the Mas Verde group because I had lunch with Al and Theresa on Friday. One meal out was in the budget but not two.  I met Al and Theresa at Romeo's Italian Restaurant for pizza.  It is up on the north side of Lakeland.  Al and Theresa used to live on the north side and they still like to go to places they are familiar with up there.

Romeo's is really good and it was nice checking in there again. It is only about 15 minutes from my work (also in the north).  Al and Theresa live in Mas Verde now and are both retired. Al worked at the museum in Operations.  I totally forgot to take a picture while we were there.  I know I also posted about this on Friday so sorry for the repeat.  Here is an older picture of my friends.

I didn't leave the house on Saturday but got some things done.  A little cleaning and a bit of purging.  Sunday was Sunday school and church.  I was a greeter this week, which I enjoy. I am scheduled once a month.  I got to Sunday school before anyone else got there so I took some photos of our room...

It was also Communion Sunday, and what a blessing to share the Lord's table with fellow believers!

Carwin and Marlene are our oldest church members.  Carwin is 98 and Marlene is 94/95 and she is a baker!  Before I had to go back to work, Joe and I went to the Thursday morning Bible study at church.  Carwin and Marlene were/are also members and she always brought something yummy to share with us. They are both amazing and no one would guess their ages.  They look 10-15 years younger.  Anyway, Marlene brought me a small loaf of orange bread/cake at church.  How awesome was that?!  Such a beautiful and delicious surprise!!  Yes, I already had a piece!!

That's it.  Thanks for checking in today!!  Have a blessed week!!

Peace & Hugs!

  1. A nice weekend! We were also greeters yesterday and we had communion last week. :)
The orange bread looks good. I'm impressed she's still baking at 94!

  4. What a lovely gesture! Since discovering our little church 5 years ago, I've decided 'church folk' are some of the nicest people out there. It sounds like yours are, too.

  5. We've had to skip Communion Sunday this month because our Church is so small and so many are sick or traveling and therefore absent. I miss it.
Wonderful photos as always. You're lookin' good! xx

  6. Oh, does that orange bread have cranberries in it? I LOVE that stuff!! What a wonderful gift! Love the pictures of your Sunday School classroom. It's reminiscent of our classroom here. Sounds like a nice weekend. I love your selfie picture too. Holy, holy, holy!
