Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 496
2. March 22nd is National Goof Off Day...will you celebrate? I wish I could! Your favorite way to goof off? A day trip to somewhere new, perhaps! Last time you had a whole day to spend 'goofing off'? When Elaine and Jim were here, I took a day off for a road trip to the winery with them. That was fun!
3. Something on your to-do list that has been there for more than a month? Will this be the month you finally cross it off? The first thing that came to mind was that Spring Cleaning question from the Tuesday 4. I need to get started moving furniture and cleaning drapes/curtains, room by room. It has been much too long.
4. In your opinion, what emotion is the most beneficial? Which one is the least useful? Worry is the least useful, for sure. There are thousands of songs written about love so I pick love as the most beneficial. And actually, the Bible tells us so!
5. What was your favorite thing to do as a kid? Elaborate. I loved to read. I loved to hike in the woods behind the house with Elaine (we also walked the rails of the train track like a balance beam!). I loved school and being in the band. I was blessed to grow up in a small town and before the internet, cell phones, and only three channels on the TV! Kids today miss so much!
6. Insert your own random thought here. I have confessed often that I watch entirely too much TV. If any of you have BritBox on your smart TVs, I highly recommend a series called Lark Rise to Candleford. I love British TV and am watching this series from the beginning for the 3rd time. The first time was more than six years ago and Joe loved it, too. BritBox has so many wonderful shows.
but the greatest of these is love.

I am with you on Number 5. It was a grand time....and enjoyed many similar activities... even the railroad though my mother would have been worried to death over it! We would go and watch the train "catch" the mail while going full tilt from an arm sort of thing..
ReplyDeleteMy blog reading has been spotty at best because I just seem to have so much to do!!! With that said, if you wrote a blog post about your trip to the winery with Elaine and Jim, I missed it. (Please share the link to it.) Would love to see what you had to say. I've never been to a winery but might like to visit one sometime.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I have been to the Lakeridge Winery in Clermont many times. It is a fun little get-away and the wine is pretty good. Here is a link to their website: https://www.lakeridgewinery.com/ and I posted about it on March 6th: https://tdorsaneo.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2023-03-07T05:00:00-05:00&max-results=1&start=6&by-date=false
DeleteIf you go, The Crooked Spoon is a good place for lunch!
DeleteDay Trips are our favorite too. I'm tired of spending maga bucks just to be miserable in a room that's not as comfortable or clean as my home or food is as well cooked as what Steve makes. We live good at home and I know it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of Brit TV too. BritBox is great. Will have to look for the one you recommended.
Have a blessed day! xx
We love Larkrise to Candleford and have it in DVDs. We just watched it all the way through a couple of months ago. It is one of our favs. Don't you wish they made more shows like this?
ReplyDeleteEnglish TV is my one weakness!!
DeleteI'll have to check out that show. Never heard of it. Take care and have a fun day.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have BritBox, but it sounds like it's worth looking into, Terri. And I agree, that worry is the most wasted emotion. When I feel myself beginning to get anxious, I turn it over to God.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Yes I was wearing of the green, I have many items on my list for over a month.
ReplyDeleteI do not worry I let things fall as is and handle it at that time, worry is a waste of my time.
Playing outside was a favorite past time as a child.
We don't usually do much for St Patricks day, but I really should try a corned beef dinner sometime!
ReplyDeleteWe are big Britbox fans. I'll have to add that one to our list!
I've heard several people comment favorably on Britbox. I like British TV but Hubby, not so much. Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI love corn beef and cabbage - the corned beef not to good for me tho.
ReplyDeleteI don't have BritBox and have never even heard of it.
I like laughter and think that is healthy.
And I wish I could goof off for a day!
