It seems like I've been gone from here forever and there is so much to catch up on!! I will read through as much as I can but may not comment on the older posts. My reader is holding over 100 posts from these past three weeks! Y'all have been busy!!
Jim and Elaine left yesterday morning before I left for Sunday school & church. When I got home, the house almost echoed. I usually do laundry on Sunday afternoon and Elaine had stripped the bed for me so I just had to gather sheets and towels from their room and get mine ready. Not hard and just one extra load than I usually do on Sunday. I even had leftovers to eat so no cooking.
Elaine texted from near Nashville that they were stopped for the night last night and will get home later today.
I took last Tuesday off so we could spend the day together. We were planning to visit the Amish Village and Restaurant down in Sarasota but decided we wanted to spend less than five hours (round trip) on the road and not have much time after lunch to shop and make a few other stops. Bella was in doggie daycare and had to be picked up by 5:30. SO... we went up to Clermont to the Lakeridge Winery and toured the winery and did the tasting. They have a great gift shop there and then we went to The Crooked Spoon for lunch before heading back to Lakeland. It was beautiful weather for our trip north. We had a good time and got Bella picked up with plenty of time to spare.
On Wednesday, Jim and Elaine drove over to Tampa to meet friends of theirs from 'home' who were down this way visiting family. I had lunch that day with my friends, Wendy and Suzette, so it worked out great. I offered to pick up Bella from doggie daycare because we thought I would be home before they would. They actually got back before me (girls out to lunch talking for a couple of hours...) but I still got to get Bella, which was fun for me and she was anxious to get back to her mom and dad.
Thursday was dinner out with the Mas Verde group. We went to Olive Garden. The food was good but our waiter was pretty awful. He had to be new and wasn't used to big groups. Poor guy...
Friday was a chill day. Elaine went to the pool while I worked. We cooked and ate in. On Saturday we drove down to Bartow for their Bloomin' Arts Festival. Bella went with us and she got lots of love as we walked around looking at art for sale. Everyone had to make over her and pet her. Elaine bought a wire tree that is very pretty. The weather was just about perfect for spectators and for the artists.
That's Jim and Bella to the right...
We ordered Chinese for dinner and those are the leftovers I had yesterday.
So... back to normal (whatever that is). I am looking forward to a visit from Joey and Darlene in a couple of weeks. Hope it works out this time because I miss them!!
Thanks for your visit!! Have a good week!!

Glad it went well and sounds like good weather.. ..nothing like a visit from old friends.. :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I love a blizzard!!! Looks like you have been a very busy lady!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends, Terri. Yum on the Blizzard!
ReplyDeleteYou sure packed a lot of fun things into their visit! I know they hated to leave. We are having such beautiful Florida weather! I love the wire tree and miss going to festivals...maybe soon! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeletePlan 'B' sounds like a wonderful alternative! Elaine's wire tree is so pretty -- it will always remind her of a delightful afternoon spent with you at the art festival. It's great to see you back in the fold but I understand the emptiness. Have they picked dates for "next time"?
ReplyDeleteWow, you had a lot of great times together! So glad it all worked out and the weather was so nice too. I can imagine how quiet the house must feel now, but thankfully you have friends around to do things with frequently it seems, and it's also good to have some peace and quiet too and get back to "normal", whatever that is. Oh, Clermont...that's getting close to my old stomping grounds (Tavares, Lake County). Such beautiful country there. Of course I remember it when there were still miles of orange groves to be seen from the Citrus Tower. Those days are long gone, and now there are only rooftops of houses to be seen from up there. But still there is much beauty around and I'm glad you found some to enjoy. We will enjoy having you back to your regular blogging schedule again! I've missed you! (((hugs)))
