The weekend went fast. Good golly.
On Friday afternoon, Joey asked me about my cousin, Justin Chambers, and asked if he was in anything new since he left Grey's Anatomy. I told him about the Godfather series "The Offer" in which he plays Marlon Brando. They hadn't seen it (on Paramont+) so we started watching it. He and Darlene were both interested in it and we ended up watching all 10 episodes - nearly midnight when we finished. They don't have Paramont+ at home and wanted to see all of it. I enjoyed watching it again. It is well done and is behind the scenes for the making of the first Godfather movie. Really interesting and Justin made a great Brando!
Joey and Darlene and the grandpups left on Saturday morning. We had a good breakfast together and they got loaded up for the trip home. Darlene texted that they arrived home safely at the expected time.
I did laundry after they left. Straightened up here and there and got outside before it got too warm so I could weed the front bed and add a couple of Easter egg decorations and some artificial flowers to spring things up a bit. Sorry, no picture yet - it's nothing to brag about, anyway.
While I was outside, I talked to Marlene and Duane, next door, for a few minutes. They have both had a nasty cold since they got back but are feeling better now. I also walked across the street to talk with Dee and Bill and give Princess some doggy treats. I am picking up mail for Susan and Chuck, and they asked me to just check inside to make sure I don't hear running water. They got a new water heater and were just a little nervous about it. I took the mail I had collected so far into their house and did a quick walk-through. Nothing was amiss.
Back in my house, I planted myself in my recliner and turned on the TV. I was so lazy that I ordered Chinese food and had it delivered for my dinner. I saved half of it to have on Sunday. Good stuff!
Sunday was Sunday school (Genesis) and church (Mark). I just love my church family and stood talking with Wilma for 15 minutes after services. She has been to the Indian restaurant where I took Joey and Darlene so we talked about food for most of the time. I am so blessed by the people in my life. Y'all included!!
That is all I have.
It's so nice to have good people in your life that bring such joy. You are special to all of us here too! Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lavender Dreamer. You have so many friends. Also I see you are like me - I like to get my work done in the morning before 1 and then I have fun or rest in the evening.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, I'm chuckling over your first avatar! Cute! I'm going to see if Tom can find that Godfather series on Prime or Netflix. What a Godsend, moving to and becoming part of the Mas Verde family!
ReplyDeleteLoved hearing all about your weekend, Terri. We have Paramont + so I will look for Justin Chambers and the Godfather film. I'll bet he did a great job playing Marlon Brando.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Happy Blessed Easter Terri, I wish we had Paramount, I need to look into this.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the God Father film.

It sounds like a really nice weekend. You definitely are blessed with many friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you had such a nice time with Joey and Darlene. I'm sure it's so fun to watch something and know an actor in person. :)
ReplyDeleteHope your aches and pains are improving!
The picture of you with the pipe is funny. I had to chuckle too, like Myra said above. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your family there. I am not familiar with that TV program, but maybe it is something John and I could watch. I will have to ask him. Right now he's into March Madness college basketball tournaments, so I don't dare interrupt that! LOL So glad you have good neighbors, friends, family and church. What a blessing. Take care and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know your cousin had been on Gray's. I'm going to have to google him now. I will also look for the series as I liked The Godfather. I haven't heard of this show. Glad you had a nice visit and weekend!
ReplyDeleteOkay I googled him. I loved him on Grays so will definitely look for the show you mentioned!
ReplyDeleteOur moms were first cousins which makes us 2nd cousins, I guess. I haven't seen him in person since 1994 but see his parents every few years. He is happily married for many years and they have five kids!
DeleteYour weekend sounds just about perfect. I had forgotten about your actor relative. I will have to check out that show.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect weekend!
ReplyDeleteChurch family can be so awesome, I have been showered with love and kindness. Interesting about your actor relative, must be cool to watch him on TV. I'm lazy this week but I had one of those shots that makes my bones hurt, It's easing up today praise God! I'm sure in no hurry for winter as Spring has just started but I do look forward to some time in sunny Florida and visiting with you. Last year was postponed but this journey Im on is going fairly well. Hoping for this winter! You're so blessed living somewhere without bitter and cold weather!
