The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thanks to Joyce for today's Hodgepodge!!  You can join in HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 485

From this Side of the Pond

1. Have you ever been on a cruise?  Yes.  If so where did you go and how did you like it?  To the Bahamas and it was not a good experience.  If not, do you have any desire to take a cruise someday?   I doubt I will ever go on another cruise.  Maybe a river cruise on a smaller boat.

2. Tell us about your Thanksgiving plans...are you hosting?  I was, but not now; cooking? sadly, no, not now; eating out?  no;  turkey or some other main? would have been turkey; is it stuffing or dressing in your house? dressing; homemade cranberries or cranberries in a can?  I like homemade but Joe liked the jelled kind in a can (go figure!); are pies on the dessert menu? would have been! what kind? Cheryl was bringing pumpkin and pecan; what are your 'must have' sides?  mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, cranberries... Tell us one thing you're especially grateful for this year.  My list is so long but I am grateful for Jesus in my life; for family and friends; and more recently for antibody infusions to help kick covid's butt.

3. If someone approaches you and asks for money do you give it to them?  No. Do you drop money 'in a tin cup' that belongs to a person on the street? No. Do you have a specific charity you support during the holiday season and/or year-round? Yes, a few.

4. Have you started decorating for Christmas? No. Is your tree up?  Not yet.  Shopping done?  No. Wrapped?  No.

5. Create your own acrostic using the word THANKS.

Time to love
Health returned
Angels protecting
Neighbors caring
Kindhearted friends & family
Savior who is in charge of it all!

6.  Insert your own random thought here.  I've had so many people praying for me (THANK YOU!) and as I am writing this on Tuesday afternoon, I can say the prayers have been heard!  I feel so much better and would have gone to work if I wasn't still in quarantine.  The staff has Friday off, so my boss is letting me go in and work a full day to help make up some hours.  My quarantine ends on Saturday so I will be back at work officially on Monday.  The antibody infusion is a game-changer, for sure. So thankful for our Governor DeSantis making it available in Florida.  The only apparent residual is sore ribs from coughing. Praise God.

Peace & hugs!
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow!

  5. That is a phenomenal health report! Very glad you will not be super sick all week. Even though you are in quarantine, I know you will enjoy the couple more days inside until you are out of the house.

  8. I'm so glad you are feeling better. I have a bad case of sinusitis with fever and chills, aches, etc., but I had a covid test and it was negative. I still had to cancel our dinner for tomorrow as I don't feel well enough to cook or to have people here. My sister and her family found a smoked turkey at Costco and all the other stuff they need, so they will survive and not have to drive two hours to come here. Benton and Rose are still cooking our turkey and items and will bring us some food tomorrow. We'll see how I feel by then to determine whether or not they will stay and eat. I feel bad for another friend we had invited from church who is all alone here, a snowbird from Connecticut. The kids offered to take her some food too, but she said not necessary. We will make it up to her as soon as I feel up to it. I hope you don't overdo it too quickly. I know I can't hardly hold my eyes open to write this, so I will stop now. Happy Thanksgiving.

  10. I'm so glad you're on the mend, but sorry you're missing your Thanksgiving feast. I hope you can gather as planned at a later time. The main thing is your health so take care and although we don't live in Florida I'm team DeSantis too : )
