Monday's Weekend Recap...

I woke up yesterday thinking I was catching a cold.  As I have done over the last nearly two years, when I get a sniffle or feel off, I do a home covid test.   The first one showed positive.  I got out another one from a different company and it told me the same thing.  I can only surmise that I picked it up in those huge crowds at Disney.  When I told my niece, they all did tests and nephew Lou is also positive.  Yep... Disney.

I went to Urgent Care to confirm it and they sent me to the hospital's Fast Trac
to get the anti-body infusion.  Hoping it gives me a 3-4 day jump start on
getting rid of this virus.

I canceled Thanksgiving dinner at my house. Duh. That hurts me more than having covid.
I also had to fess up and tell lots of people who were around me at the
Thanksgiving potluck dinner in the clubhouse Saturday.  It was a great time.
I felt fine. Who knew what would happen overnight.
One friend was sweet enough to tell me that we are all exposed every day
at the grocery store, at the mailboxes, etc., and to not worry about it.

No Sunday school or church yesterday for me, but I did get a plate of food dropped off by a couple in my small group.  I am so blessed.  I can still taste and smell and still got the laundry done. I am expecting today to be a little harder.  Hope I'm pleasantly surprised!! Of course, I am happy for prayers lifted!!  I am quarantined for at least this week.  No sick leave or vacation time but I will try to get some things done around the house.  God's got this!

Peace & hugs!
I know God is in control.

  1. Oh dear girl…prayers…my daughter flies down every few weeks. Often when she comes with one of her girls or her husband, they drive to Disney for the day…they always invite me, but because of Covid, I don’t go. When I saw your pictures of you at Disney, I texted her and said, This delightful woman whose blog I enjoy just posted pictures at Disney…it looks like Covid city…I just can’t go yet.” So sorry…I still mask of course and avoid crowds…at my age, the doc says necessary. I am so sorry you have to miss work. I also did not know that those withC now don’t just stay home…they go to hospital…good for the info…please be good to yourself…I know you have so many friends…they will help…take care…you are such a strong brave person…you are admired…glad you are smart and vaccinated…a million prayers

    1. Fast Trac at our hospital is like urgent care. I wasn't admitted but got the IV infusion. It took an hour and I drove home.

  7. Hope you get to feeling better! Your friend is right though: we are constantly being exposed to everything all the time so it's not the big deal people make it out to be. But maybe the antibodies will help you heal quickly.

  9. Oh Terri, I am so sad to hear this . I will be praying for you. Giving up Thanksgiving is awfully hard. Prayers for getting work caught up later and time to take care of some stuff and home. Everywhere we go there is stuff lurking. We have to live and you can’t worry about the exposure. It is everywhere!

  10. Terri, I'm praying for you! The virus is weaker now, the last people I knew to get it didn't lose taste and smell, and just had equivalent to a bad cold. I'm glad you could get the antibody infusion. I take my vitamin D+K2, quercitin, zinc (and magnesium and potassium, Omega 3's), which also help. I'm super sorry you have to miss Thanksgiving, dang.

  12. I am so, so sorry to hear this, Terri, but please know that prayers are lifted for rapid healing and recovery. How nice that your church members brought you some food, and that you haven't lost your sense of taste or smell. I think this actually might be a mild case, and I will pray that it is.
    Love and hugs!

  13. OH NO Terri! I am SO sorry to hear this! I am praying for you now. I am so glad that you were able to get the infusion right away. How I wish other states offered this as well. I don't understand why they are so bullheaded about this. I am also very sorry you will have to miss out on Thanksgiving dinner. Please just get some rest and don't overdo it. Let your body heal. Sending up prayers on your behalf now. (((hugs)))

  14. Yes, we are all exposed all the time because as happened with you, people are out and about without knowing they have it.
I'm so sorry and will certainly be praying for this to pass quickly.

  15. So sorry to hear this Terri. I hope by now you're feeling a bit better. It's hard not to worry about who you might have been in contact with but try not to - everyone here is mixing again and hard to pinpoint exactly where you've picked the virus up from and of course by the time you know for sure you're positive it's usually too late to not have passed it on. I'm sure your friends will be checking in on you and you won't be wanting for food but of course a shame that it messed up your Thanksgiving plans.
