Monday's Weekend Recap...

I saw Helen on Friday.  It wasn't a great visit, nor a bad one
but she was sweet when I said I had to leave. This photo was
taken in her room.  She did let me take her there
so we could visit a bit more.
She usually doesn't want to go to her room.

On Saturday, I picked up my friend, Wilma, and we drove down to Punta Gorda to meet up with my granddaughter, Lauren, for lunch at the Captain's Table in Fisherman's Village.  The waitress took this picture, which turned out bad because of the glare through the window.  We had a delicious lunch and it was great catching up with Lauren.  I hadn't seen her since April!  We won't let that much time go before we do this again!

Outside the window, the people left this table and the birds
descended.  It was salad in the bowl so they didn't stay long
when they figured out it wasn't for them!

A waiter told us that the sunken sailboat has been there in the bay
for a couple of months.  The owner died (not on the boat) and the boat
passed to the city of Punta Gorda.  The city hasn't gotten around to
hauling the boat out, so there it remains for diners to ask questions about.

My lovely granddaughter, Lauren.

My friend, Wilma, and I.

And Lauren and I...

Our Sunday School started back yesterday so I had to adjust my alarm for Sunday morning.  We are still studying Romans.  It was communion Sunday for us and we commissioned our two men who are leaving tomorrow with the Crates for Ukraine.

Yesterday afternoon, Vinny and I got a visitor named Casper.  He is an orange tabby cat who looks like Vinny's brother.  Casper's human mom passed away and his remaining family needed to find him a home.  Casper is seven years old.  Vinny is interested.  Casper is terrified and hiding under my bed.  I don't have a picture yet because of that.  We are going to see if we can make this relationship work.  I will keep you posted!!

Peace & hugs!

    1. I hope Casper likes it and stays! I love it when animals have us and a pal. I need to take a trip down the coast to Punta Gorda. It has been on my mind since reading that book called A Land Remembered. There are so many places to see. Hopefully, when Jeff retires we can do something of those couple of days trips to places not too far away.

    2. Oh, I do hope Casper will acclimate and come out and play with Vinnie, and be "Casper the friendly ghost" LOL. Praying it works out for all of you. Sounds like your home would be the best place for him. So glad you were able to go visit your granddaughter, and that your friend Wilma went with you. Looks like you had a lovely day. Also glad you had a nice visit with Helen. Your weekend sounds really nice. Thank you for sharing.

    3. Wow, that's something about the sailboat! Your granddaughter is stunning, Terri. I'm so glad she makes time to spend with you. I'm saying a prayer that Casper will adapt; the poor baby's whole world's been turned upside down. It breaks my heart when animals don't understand.

    5. Your granddaughter is so pretty and I'm glad you got to spend some time with here. I love getting to eat at a place on the water like that. I hope Casper will come to be a loving member in your home. Have a great day.

    7. I do hope everything works out with Casper, Terri. Having one cat often does lead to having another. Your granddaughter, Lauren, is such a lovely young lady - so glad you got to see her and enjoy lunch together.
      Have a great week!

    8. Oh, praying Casper decides he likes it at your home. Casper is one of the names I considered for my Jasper, though when you look things up, Jasper means Casper in German or something. Nice that you had a nice lunch with your friend and granddaughter (she is a pretty girl!) and what a lovely view you had! Have a great week, Terri!
