The Tuesday 4...

Tuesday 4

Reading is Fundamental

Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.      Let's talk about books and reading. If you are not a reader consider substituting movies and TV programs.

1.  What book brought out your emotions and why?  Gosh, I can't really think of one specific book because I read all the time and have read so many.  I rarely cry while reading a book but many historic mysteries and detective puzzles do make me not want to put the book down before figuring it out. I don't read many soupy love stories or sad books.  Reading is an escape for me and I like my stories to have good endings and be entertaining with well-thought-out characters and plot development.

2.  How has reading changed your life both for good or for bad? What you get out of it?  As mentioned above, reading is entertainment for me.  I have loved reading since first grade.  How has reading changed my life?  I can't answer that because I have always read books.  My life would probably be different had I NOT been an avid reader but I can't put my finger on a specific good or bad life-changing moment that stands out.

3.   What character(s) do you love and which do you hate and why?  Again, too many to cull.

4.    What book or books do you think everyone should read once in their lifetime?  Other than the Bible,  Brave New World, Animal Farm, and 1984 would all wake a few people up who haven't already read them.

Peace & hugs!

"You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture.
Just get people to stop reading them."
- Ray Bradbury

  1. I think I've lived 'enough life' (that) I run from the thought of soupy love stories. It's been a while since I've found something I hate to put down, but hope springs eternal (lol). In the meantime, perhaps I should read 1984 or Animal Farm someday.

  2. I love reading too. Right now I am reading Once upon a Wardrobe, which is about CS Lewis. It's very interesting.

  3. I agree that everyone, especially those who need a wake-up call, should read those books by George Orwell, Terri. I'm an avid reader, too, and I do love a good mystery/thriller.
    Blessings!

  6. I don't like soupy books much either. I don't want my heart torn out or to be made sad. One that did that was Mister God, this is Anna and It was terribly emotional for me. No, not into that. Thank you so much for joining in each week.
