1. Who is your favorite singer? I don't have a favorite. Lately, I have been listening to Siriusly Sinatra in the car and enjoy Frank's singing style. What do you like about him or her? I don't need to write about Frank Sinatra. If you have never heard of him, click here for more than you would ever want to know.
2. Write about your first memory of going to the doctor. Dr. Payton was our family doctor and he brought all four of us Kelly kids into the world. He made house calls, but my first real memory is not really of him as much as of his nurse. I don't remember her name but she was mean and I was afraid of her. She always had needles and she put up with no-nonsense from little kids. One time, I remember she told me to hold still while she stuck me or she would hold me down to do it. I hated her and I hated going to the doctor's office. This was in the 1950s...
3. Write a poem about writing poems.
so let's just leave this subject alone!!
4. Write a poem about vacations.
5. What is something interesting that no one knows about you? There isn't much that most of my readers don't already know. In my senior year of high school, I was voted the most talented senior girl by my classmates.
6. Why is it so important to help other people in need? Because next week it could be you/me in need. Also, scripture says: Matthew 25:40 ESV
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
7. Would you rather finish a project early or do it at the last minute? Finish early! Why? I don't like having things hanging over my head. Get it done! I do freely admit to procrastinating cleaning sometimes.
8. If you had three months left to live, what would you do? Praise God that I have three months left to let loved ones know how special they are and how great our reunion will be one day if they believe in John 3:16.
9. If you could be a flavor of ice cream, what flavor would you be? Chocolate. Why? It's my favorite!!
10. What is the hardest thing about being a kid? Understanding that mom knows best, perhaps?
11. Would you rather be tall or short? Tall. Why? Because that is how God made me! I can reach top shelves!!
12. What is the greatest challenge facing people in our world today? Trusting that God really is in control.
13. What is the scariest experience you’ve ever had? Not to sugarcoat it, going to the hospital to sign a DNR for my dear husband. Sorry, but that's it.
14. Write a poem about music.
See #3 again!
15. Write about a favorite memory of something you did with your best friend. My best friend for 38 years (36 married) was Joe, but before him (and to this day), it was my BFF girlfriend, Elaine. We had lots of fun growing up across the street from each other. Her family was my extended family and mine was hers. One summer our families vacationed together in Canada at the fishing camp... we were 15/16... (yes, that's an outhouse) We have eaten nearly a ton of no-bake chocolate cookies between us. That is really our claim to fame! LOL

I love that story about you and Elaine and the no-bake cookies. I remember them and love them...why don't I bake them? because they are "no-bake"! LOL. And I don't have any Hershey's chocolate in the house... I appreciated your answers. I am not much of a poet either. Just can't seem to get the hang of it. I really don't even like to read poems that much. I hope you have a blessed and beautiful SONday today. WE will be out the door soon for S.S. and Church. John is teaching the lesson in SS today, so I guess I need to get off this computer and get us some breakfast and get dressed and get going...Have a happy day.
ReplyDeleteI, too, don't like to wait until the last minute to do something - hate having things hanging over my head! And I'd certainly be chocolate if I had to choose a flavor.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Sunday, Terri!
Chocolate for me too. I've heard of no bake cookies but I've never had them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Love this photo of you and Elaine! Congrats on being voted Most Talented by your peers! Yep, I remember full-page sections in my h.s. yearbrook devoted to: 'Most Talented', 'Best Personality', 'Most Attractive', etc. I wonder when that quit being a thing?
ReplyDeleteThanks for never failing to remind us to trust God's timing! xo
I am short and the guys at work make fun of me; always needing the stool--which goes missing. sigh
ReplyDeleteThat DNR--we have ours on file...and yes, its scary. Keeping you in prayer, Terri.
Linda, ours are both on file but they still needed me to sign a yellow paper. Our living wills meant nothing. I'm just glad that we both knew of each others' wishes. That made it a littler easier for me to sign that paper. He would only survive on machines and that is not what either of us want/wanted.
Delete#8!!! Yes, me too! Yipee, I get to go Home!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that Joe went Home first, that had to be so difficult. But on a selfish note, I'm glad you're still here. These are scary times and I'm SO THANKFUL all my friends are still around. I fear it's only going to get darker and scarier before Christ returns. [Matthew 24]
Keep looking UP!
Love & Blessings. xx
I love the photo of you and Elaine and your long lasting friendship!
ReplyDeleteThat was not a nice nurse. :( Why treat a kid that way?
I like Frank Sinatra and that style of music too.
I can only imagine how hard it was to sign that DNR. So thankful for Heaven!
