Tuesday 4
Home is Where The Heart Is
This week's topic is home.
1 . What makes a house a home? Love. Contentment. Peace.
2. How do you keep your house neat, tidy, and clean? Do you find it difficult? I try to keep it tidy and clean by doing chores daily/weekly. It is not difficult but was a lot easier when I was able to afford cleaning help! 👍😀
3. Are plants important in your home.. or collections.. or wall art? Is there a theme you like to create? My only "theme" is comfort. No plants because of the cats and I am not a plant person. I have a few small "collections" but did away with a lot of stuff when we moved four years ago.
4. What is a typical day/evening like in your home? Now I go to work on weekdays, in the mornings. Afternoons include errands and those chores mentioned above. Evenings are spent in front of the TV with my laptop open on my lap - unless I have dinner plans.
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss,
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
I love the words to that old hymn, "Trust and Obey". Such a great formula for life: Trust in God and Obey His word..."Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey." Amen! I find myself wishing I could hire some help for housecleaning. Just can't do a lot of the things anymore...my arms, back, and neck sure do complain! And I've gotten a bit lazy this past year. We don't do much entertaining in the home anymore, so I have let a lot of things go. Shame on me. Love, contentment and peace do make for a happy home. Thank you for your good answers. Not sure if I'll get this one done today or not. But I love to read everyone else's answers. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteContinuing the song you shared.... Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
ReplyDeleteSuch instructive and comforting words for those of us who have chosen to follow Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
Have a good day, dear Terri!
Love, contentment and peace . . . that's truly what makes a house a home, Terri.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Contentment ... yes! I'm not big on plants, either, probably on account I don't want another 'dependent' (LOL) Love your closing verse!
ReplyDeleteI only have a few plants left because they become such a pain to care for. I needed to hear that hymn today.. thanks.
ReplyDeleteTrust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey!! I really love your decorating theme, comfort is the best. Hope you're having a great day.
ReplyDeleteTime keeps moving along... can't believe summer is gone and fall is almost here...
ReplyDeleteI also am not really a plant person! I love plants but I kill them so I don't have any in my home. Except for 2 small little fake ones. I sure do love that hymn at the bottom there as well. Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteNow I will be singing that hymn all week, which is not a bad thing!
ReplyDeleteHouse plants and I are not friends.
