Not Quite 5,000 Questions
Hi! I'm your host Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World". . Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and was published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. Cheers to all of us thieves!
Stolen from 5000 questions
1. Who do you take for granted? I think I often forget how blessed I am and have been. I'm sure I took Joe for granted often. Also my home, my health... don't we all do that from time to time? This is something I pray about daily.
2. Short, knee, or ankle skirts? (if a man, have you ever worn kilts?) Knee or ankle but I rarely wear a skirt or dress these days.
3. Do you wear a hat? No. I like hats and wish I didn't look ridiculous in them.
4. Who's your favorite cartoon character? Grandma & Grandpa Pickles.
5. Does break dancing impress you? I am usually wowed by the talent and athleticism involved.
6. Are you a miracle? Every life is miraculous and created by our God.
7. Have you ever eaten tofu? Yes. I betcha I ate tofu before some of you knew what it was. In the early 80s, a deli close to my work had tofu sandwiches that were delicious, actually. It was rather like an egg salad and served with sprouts.
8. Does the moon have an effect on your mood? I think it does whether we notice it or not. The pull is more powerful than we know.
9. Many people will say that the Harry Potter books are pure fluff with no literary value. Do you agree? I read them all and enjoyed them. That's all I care about.
10. What are you doing next Wednesday? On the 15th I will be praying for my BFF's successful eye surgery; I will wish my friends, the Caputos, a happy anniversary, and I will be at work in the morning.
11. Why do so many people think Elvis is still alive? I haven't a clue.
12. Are your hands cold? No. My hands and my feet are usually warm.
13. Have you ever given blood? I earned my 10-gallon award. I worked for the American Red Cross Blood Services for six years and later was the bloodmobile coordinator at the Museum. I faithfully donated until I reached 10 gallons. Unfortunately, I am not able to donate now. The rules about one of my medications have changed.
14. What SCI-fi books do you read? I have never been fond of Sci-fi.
15. Have you ever belonged to a sorority or a fraternity? No.
Peace & hugs!
Jesus loves us!

Great answers! I am afraid we all take our health and loved ones for granted to a certain extent, until we lose one or the other, and then we realize just how much we should have perhaps done some things differently. But some things just can't be helped or changed, and we must move forward in life with a new perspective and deeper appreciation for what we still have. I don't wear shorts anymore...capris or slacks and occasionally skirts/dresses for church, but I hate wearing pantyhose and hate to go bare legged. So there you have it. Yes we are miracles created by God! Amen!! Amazing you already know what you are doing next Wednesday. I looked at the calendar and it is blank on that day, so I haven't a clue. Just another day so far... Not a sci fi fan either. And I am surprised you've read all the Harry Potter books. I have not read even one of them. Just didn't appeal to me. Not my "cup of tea", I guess. LOL. Speaking of which, mine is getting cold and I need to keep a move on if I am going to make it to S.S. and Church on time! Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteI read Harry Potter with granddaughter Lauren and we talked about them on the phone. That made them more fun!
DeleteI've never read any of the Happy Potter books but I have watched all the movies. They were cute and it was neat seeing the characters grow up.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
We do tend to take things for granted that we should be giving thanks for instead - great reminder, Terri!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Tofu was in with my friends back in the 80s....it was amazing what they could do with it.. :)
ReplyDeleteI think most of us lose sight of how blessed we are. I try to be mindful of it by listing several things I'm grateful for in my journal every day. I'm over 1500 so far this year. Once you get in the habit, it gets easier to notice all the little things. It has been a great attitude changer for me. My mom loves Pickles. She always says the husband is modeled after her husband. They really are pretty similar. Hats don't do anything for me, either. So unfair. Have a blessed day and week!
ReplyDeleteGreat responses, but #1 really resonates. Back when tofu became popular, my curiousity piqued -- I bought a little package and fried it up. Knowing me, I probably didn't use any seasoning. Anyway, I took one bite and threw the rest in the trash. (LOL)
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of Harry Potter -- or scifi. But big CONGRATS for your blood donor congratulations. Wow.
Super answers, Terri! I never got into the Harry Potter books and while I don't mind watching sci-fi on TV, I am not a big fan of sci-fi books. I think as humans, we take things and people for granted without thinking about it. I have been more mindful of that this year. Have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the full moon. I think it makes people do weird things. Loved your answers! Have a nice day.

Like you, I ate tofu before it became as common as it is now. It is a good substitute and tends to take on the flavors of whatever you put with it.
ReplyDelete#4 - I have so many cartoons I like I don't think I could narrow it down. *lol*
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. here's hoping your day is sweet and easy.
Blessings. xx
It's always so fun to read these questions and answers. She comes up with questions I would never even think of. Sadly, I think all of us probably take our spouse for granted some of the time. I know I do. I feel the same about hats. I love the idea of them---a result of watching so many 30's and 40's films. but I look horrible in a hat.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you,
Patti
It always makes me smile when I read your answers, Terri. I hope you have a beautiful week and I am working Wed. too. smiles
ReplyDeleteI have not worn a dress in more than 10 years! But in the coming few weeks I will wear 2 or even 3! I'm a little nervous about that.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes to number 6! And, I have never eaten tofu and have no desire to try it! Have a wonderful day Terri!
