Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 420
1. Realist, idealist, optimist, pessimist...which one are you? I believe I am usually an optimistic realist. Elaborate. I try, always, to be optimistic but I am also always aware of reality. So, I temper my optimism with reality.
2. What's something currently on your wish list? I have a 'private' wish list on Amazon where I save online things I see that I like. I go there now and then and delete things that make me wonder why I saved them in the first place. Someone once said to be careful what you wish for... However, if anyone wants access to my private wishlist when it gets closer to my birthday, just let me know!! (wink)
3. Three things on this week's shopping list? I went shopping on Saturday so there isn't a list right now. I did buy corn on the cob and ate the last of it last night. Delicious!! May have to get some more while it is fresh here in Florida!
4. According to Trip Advisor here's a list of the top ten things to do in the US this summer-
Of the ten attractions listed which do you find most appealing? Have you already experienced anything on this list? The Chicago River Cruise would be great. I have never been to Chicago. If anyone else loves "Somebody Feed Phil" like I do, on Netflix, you may have seen the Chicago episode, in which he takes that tour, and the sites are beautiful. I have been to Charleston a couple of times and saw the sites there, and I lived in the metro DC area for 12 years. The New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat tour would be second on my list. I love New Orleans and have visited there four times but never took that tour! Now I want to go!! Back up to that wish list, I guess!
5. Besides home and work where do you spend the most time? Is there any place else? Other than work and home... Publix? I probably spend more time there than at church.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I got my official start date for the new job! Friday, June 4th (yes, a Friday - go figure). My current boss took my news okay. He seemed disappointed but wants me to complete my two-week notice and hopes the agency can find someone else to start so I can show her/him the 'ropes'.
I have a week off from work between the two and am planning to visit Joey and Darlene over Memorial Day weekend. My cat-sitter will be here taking care of the babies! AND... my two sisters and brother-in-law will be here on June 5th for a 4-5 day visit. Time is flying. Mid-month, each month, makes one more without Joe. Three months seems like a lifetime without him. Still hard. But, I am...

Sounds like you have a busy month ahead. I have a wish list on Amazon too and I do the same thing. I wonder why I put somethings on my list. lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Congrats on the new job....I looked at the websites you posted and it is a lovely area. I am glad you are taking a break between the two jobs. What a treat to have your sisters come...have the best time ever.
ReplyDeleteI am excited about your new job and the fact that you have some fun upcoming with family visits. I know the times are hard without Joe. I think we all can imagine how hard that would be.
ReplyDeleteWell, I see I have some catching up to do here! Gotta back up and find out about the job change!
ReplyDeleteI just read back to catch up too. So this is a second new job? I'm glad it worked out for you! Corn is just coming in to the stores here now, but I'm anxious to have some. Maybe this weekend. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteGlad your current boss took the news of you leaving okay, Terri. Yes, you are certainly staying busy, that's for sure! Enjoy the time you have with family coming up soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Congratulations on the new job! I'm sure it will be less stressful and more organized than your current one. I hope you get to work with fun people. Wow, starting a job on a Friday and then having overnight company right away! You're amazing, Terri!
ReplyDeleteShould be a nice environment to work in...and less stress hopefully..
ReplyDeleteWe've been using E-Bay. It's cheaper and the CEO doesn't profess to being "woke". They have Wish Lists too. I canceled our Amazon account when they broke the contract and dropped Parlor off their servers. Shameful, criminal behaviour.
ReplyDeleteI wanna do the Mississippi River Cruise some day. I don't know how far it goes but it looks interesting.
Congrats on the new job! Whoop, whoop! :)
I pray the days get easier as time progresses. It's wonderful to be held in God's loving hands, isn't it. He knows your (our) grief and He cares.
Blessings. xx
Well that's so nice your sisters are coming! I can't believe that the year is flying by so fast, almost to June already. I'm sending you a hug, so sorry about Joe, I hope it's getting a teeny bit easier, but I know it's probably not.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Amazon had a Wish List feature ... going there, for sure! (And it sounds far easier than a Dream Board.) Yes, we saw that Chicago episode of "Feed Phil." Being from Chicago originally, Tom really enjoyed it. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteGrin...I am so very happy for you, Terri...I will be giving my 2 week notice as well, soon. Keeping you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteGood that you are able to get some "me" time between your jobs and good that your current boss wants you to work your final two weeks. Enjoy the visits with your family, Terri.
ReplyDeleteI have been to most of those cities so not sure which I would choose. Glad you are going to have some time between jobs and can enjoy family. Staying busy is best right now. xoxo
ReplyDeleteTerri.. I am so glad that you are keeping busy. I know it is still hard. My Sista lost her hubby in August and is going through the same grief process. I keep you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think times is flying too. I'm now less that 4 months away from retirement. Scary, but exciting.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job and I hope it's all you are hoping for.
Yes, I agree, time is flying. Three months is such a brief and fresh time of grief. I’m going on a year and a half, and it’s hard. I am like you, I continue on and stay busy, but the loss is just so great. I also have a long wish list on Amazon and I review it from time to time to see if there’s anything there I still want and I delete a lot of it. Same thing with save for later.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are blessed and when we make ourselves focus on gratitude we do ourselves a favor. I am so happy about your new job and hope the remaining days on the current job just fly by!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I hope you love your new job.
ReplyDeleteI think you are optimistic realist.
Love, sandie
I am also an optimistic realist and I too have an Amazon wishlist. Yes, I take things off my list sometimes and wonder why I ever put it on there. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you get a break before the new job and can get away over Memorial Day!
Will your new job be part time as well? What kind of hours/days? I will be praying for you as you finish up the one and begin the new. Glad you will get a little time off in between. I am also an optimistic realist. The glass is half full, but I know it will soon be empty. LOL. Have a wonderful week. I am glad God is helping you and keeping you strong during these days, but I can imagine it is still hard. I keep you in my prayers daily.
ReplyDeleteMonday-Friday, 9:00-1:00, but they told me the hours are flexible if I need to change them around for something, as long as I do four hours a day. Nice!!
DeleteCongrats on the new job! I do hope someone fills your vacant position.
ReplyDeleteYay! For having family come visit! That is so exciting after not seeing people for so long.
I have a similar wish list on amazon.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new job. Enjoy our time off.
