Spending Time...
This week let's talk about spending time
1.Are you currently reading a book you'd like to tell us about? Maybe a TV program you can recommend to us? I am reading a 10-book Cozy Mystery 'Apple Orchard' series by Chelsea Thomas. It is a fun read. I am on book four. Predictable, like all cozy mysteries, but still well done and I am enjoying the characters. I have been watching the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries series on AcornTV. Not as predictable as the Cozy Mysteries. Love me some Phryne Fisher!!
2. Are you a Jane Austen fan? No. So many seem to be. If you are what is your favorite book and who is your favorite character. If you aren't a fan, is there an author you especially like to read? I always buy the next Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum book. Favorite character..etc? Stephanie Plum, of course, with Ranger a close second!
3. How do you spend your time during the day? I am working part-time again so the mornings are working. Do you set apart time to read, watch TV, study? I run errands, do cleaning, and laundry in the afternoons, and then spend the evenings at home watching TV and blogging, Facebook, etc. The laptop is usually on my lap with the TV is on.
4. Have your beliefs changed in your lifetime? I have always believed Jesus Christ is my savior. That's how I grew up. New religion.. new politics? Yes to the new church/religion. I have been and will remain a conservative Republican (with some Libertarian leanings) believing in small government and individual freedoms. .Or are they the same as they were growing up? (My parents were Republicans, too.) I was baptized in the Presbyterian Church, raised in the Methodist Church, became Catholic when I married Joe, and we both left the Catholic church and joined the Presbyterian Church (PCA) two and a half years ago. I love my church family, and it truly feels like a family. I haven't had that in a church in a long time. Do you spend time thinking over the important things of life to take stock in your life? I don't "spend blocks of time" thinking about those things but I have spent a good bit of time taking stock of my life now as a new Widow. That just happens at any time and usually not planned. Things happen, things come up...
(Something silly... spelling/Grammarly keeps wanting to change widow to window. I had to capitalize it.)

Spellcheck on my iphone can be annoying like that too. Some of the words it comes up with are funny especially when you change it back and it rechanges it back for you. lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Oh, I love Stephanie Plum! Just wish I'd not seen the movie, ya know? Thinking "That's NOT Ranger!" (lol). I've not tried any of those 'cozy mysteries.' Usually I prefer to be taken by surprise, but sometimes that takes up too much emotional energy. Have yourself a blessed day, dear Terri!
ReplyDeleteConservative/Republican with Libertarian leanings just like you, Terri. Was I raised that way? No! But just as Jesus found me at age 30, my eyes were thankfully opened to the Truth.
ReplyDeleteAnd spell check? What a nuisance!
Have a blessed day, my friend.
Nice to read from you. God bless.
ReplyDeleteConservative/Republican here, not a fan of Jane Austen, I do like cozy mysteries (they remind me of my childhood reading days of Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden, Cherry Ames, The Hardy Boys), and am still seeking a church without the politics and/or drama. Have a terrific Tuesday, Terri!
ReplyDeleteSpellcheck drives me coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs! It does that to all of us. I wish I could turn it off. *lol*
ReplyDeleteMy adopted Mom was Presbyterian, I think. I'm surprised I didn't go that route. We, too, are Republican with Libertarian leanings. I've gotten where I don't trust any of 'em. That's one reason I like President Trump so much. He's not a politician. He's a businessman with our best interests at heart, but you know that.
Can't wait to meet you Saturday!
Love & Prayers xx
Enjoyed my visit . Your journey of faith like mine has many twists and turns which is good. I think it shows a delevoping faith as we search for TRUTH! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteGreat questions and answers... :)
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your beliefs and the testimony you have given through good and bad times.
ReplyDeleteYour books sounds good! Enjoy. I definitely have my genre I enjoy too. Loved your answers. Have a nice week.

Oh wow...so similar in many ways...but first...they keep changing "widow" to "window"...maybe it's showing you that you are in a "Closed Door, Open Window" kind of situation in life...one door has closed, but God is opening new windows for you as you find your way in this new journey of life. I didn't do this meme today, had other things on my mind and also was busy...it's interesting regarding our faith journey...I was "Christened" as a Lutheran as an infant, and raised as a Methodist. I married a Baptist, but we decided to join the C&MA (Alliance) denomination when we got married as it was similar to both our backgrounds.(And I was also baptized in the Alliance church as an adult). That is where we served in the ministry for many years, and now we have come full circle and are Methodists. Our faith in Christ has never changed, (except to get stronger and stronger), just the name on the building in which we worship. I don't read Jane Austen either. I like cozy mysteries, but right now I'm not doing much reading...but we are enjoying some mystery/detective stories on TV together. I hope you have a wonderful week and weekend ahead. Take care and God bless!
