I actually have some new photos to share this week! Wow!!
My new boss had me visit the office on Wednesday afternoon so
he could show me around and I could turn in all the paperwork
I had to fill out. Tons of paperwork, including my college transcript
he could show me around and I could turn in all the paperwork
I had to fill out. Tons of paperwork, including my college transcript
which I had to pay $8.50 for because I can't find the one I was given back in 2002!
He drove me all around the parklands and told me lots of facts I
don't remember. There are 22 lakes on the 8,300 acres. There are
fishing lakes, boating lakes, an ADA lake for the physically challenged.
There is a lake just for bank fishing and one for kids only.
Seven miles of hiking trails; seven miles of horseback riding trails.
All of that while driving on rough dirt roads in his 4-wheel drive truck.
The only place we got out was at Lake Coronet.
This lake is "full of gators"... his words. We did see one swimming
but you can't see it in my pictures.
Permits are required to use the park but they are only $3.00 per person.
The park is only open to the public from Friday - Sunday.
I am so excited about working there!! The office is far away
from this lake full of gators and most of the others, but near the shooting range
and the hiking trail. I imagine I will try the hiking trail after work one day.
If you can read the sign below, Joe's Tax Service, I had to chuckle because
so many people in town would ask my Joe if that was his office. Not.
But it IS my current boss's accountant and I talked him into going
there yesterday to meet with John and get his help in finishing the work
I got started on straightening out the books. I have most of the answers
for him and hope he can make the changes that still need to be made.
There is a new person starting today (my last day) but I have some
reservations about her QuickBooks experience. Fingers crossed
because I really care about Ed and his business. It has been a
gruelling month and I am ready to move on to something a bit more fun.
Last Tuesday, I went to dinner with my old neighbors,
Bob & Sharon (next to me) and Tim and Judy.
Bob and Sharon were back in town to pick up a new puppy.
I got to meet little Poppy, too, but don't have a picture.
Dachsund babies are so cute! It was fun catching up with them.
I am so proud of our nephew, Julian, who just became a Major
in the Marine Corps. This is him with his sweet wife and
during COVID (but not from COVID). If you remember from
my posts, you know Nick's wife, Debbie (Julian's mom) is
also fighting cancer. She is not doing well but I am so happy to
see that she got to join them for the celebration.
This is at Nick's grave, in Arlington. He was also a Marine.
AND.... guess what!!! I am having dinner tomorrow night with blogging friend Sparky and her hubby!! They are meeting Joey, Darlene, and me at a steak and seafood restaurant that they like. I am always so excited to meet blogging friends in person!! There will be pictures!! If you aren't familiar with Sparky, you can visit her blog HERE.
Prayers, please, for...

Oh, what a beautiful place to work! I am SO excited for you! I still don't know exactly what your job will be there (do you even know?) But it looks wonderful! I would love working there too! And I am sure your current boss and new person will do fine...you got things straightened out enough to make it easier for her to transition. Now go have some fun this weekend with your family. SO wonderful you get to meet Sparky (Pamela!) and her husband Steve! I am envious! But just relax and have fun. Praying for your nephew's mother. She's certainly been through a lot. Take care and have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy title is Administrative Secretary and he said there isn't really a job description. I've never been a secretary before so this will be an adventure!
DeleteThe park looks pretty. I hope where you work has big windows so you can see it all day while you work.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun safe weekend visiting family + friends!
Such a nice post. I hope the new position is everything you want it to be.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I feel famous. LOL Can't wait to meet y'all. I'll text you as we're leaving the house. Takes about 50 or so minutes for us to get there. Drive safe.
Love & Prayers. xx
Hoping the new job will be just what you need right now. Tell Spark and hubby hello and enjoy them. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteMay the Lord keep you safe as you travel and give you a very happy visit. I am glad things are working out for you so beautifully. The Lord has been so very good to you. My Bible reading this morning included Proverbs 16:6b, "... through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided." God blesses those who seek to know Him and please Him. This is evident in your life.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are leaving your previous job knowing you really helped someone out. Hopefully the new person will pick up where you left off. And what a beautiful area. I know my grandson Elliott would enjoy the kids fishing lake. Good Luck at your your new Job Terri. So glad it all worked out for you.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck. What a wonderful surrounding to work... :)
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip to see your family, Terri. Your new job sounds like it is surrounded in nature. Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, Terri! Your new (work) neighborhood sounds huge -- LAKE-land, indeed.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry to learn Debbie's not doing well. Lifting prayers, both for her and your upcoming adventure!
PS - So happy to know you're going to meet Sparky! We're friends on FB, but I can't figure how to follow her blog except via e-mail. And we all know that's going away.
I am so glad things are falling into place with the job. That will keep you busy and help the transition in life you find yourself in. I am praying those sisters get to come soon and will keep the one in my prayers. IT is fun to meet blogging friends. We talk every week so we are FRIENDS!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful time in Georgia and I hope you love your new job.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, Terri! Your new job is a dream job for sure. And it's great you will see Joey and Darlene over Memorial Day weekend, plus the bonus of meeting a fellow blogger in person. There are so many folks, you included, that I would love to meet personally. Maybe one day , , ,
