Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 407
1. Something little you are loving right now? I love having my BFF, Elaine, and her hubby living next door for a few months this winter!!

3. What's something you currently have your heart set on doing-going-seeing-or experiencing? We just found out our niece, Haley is getting married Labor Day weekend so our hearts are set on making it up to Pennsylvania for her big day and to see our D'Orsaneo relatives and friends for a happy occasion. It will also be Joe's birthday weekend!
4. Who would you most like to have a heart to heart with right now? Is that possible? I often wish I could have a heart-to-heart with my mom & dad again, but it isn't possible right now because they left us in 1989 and 1995.

6. Insert your own random thought here. Not random, but we didn't end up going to Bok Tower Gardens yesterday with Jim & Elaine. They decided to wait until Joe and I feel better so we can go together, even though I encouraged them to go while the camellias are in full bloom. I am functioning and feeling okay though still coughing and blowing and can't taste or smell. Joe is dealing with a low-grade fever off and on and really feels crummy. We both wonder if this is our side-effect from the vaccine, even though Jim and Elaine, and Helen are all fine. My head cold/sinus stuff started about three days after the vaccine. Joe followed about 3-4 days after me. We did go get our labs done yesterday and the nurse told us lots of people are having side-effects from the vaccine. It means your body is working on immunity from the vaccine, which is good, but I sure hope the second shot doesn't make us worse than this. Of course, it could also just be a stupid virus I picked up somewhere and gave it to Joe. Who knows. If he isn't a lot better today, I will be a little more insistent that he go to Urgent Care for some help. Sorry to whine about it, but there it is.

Praying for you and Joe both today. Trusting it is just the reaction and that it will soon go away. I am sorry you missed out on going to Bok Tower to see the Camellias. I am sure that would be a beautiful trip. But you are right to rest and let your bodies heal. Please take care dear friends.

ReplyDeleteFeel better...when kids, it was fun exchanging cards with classmates..especially in the early years.. it was all about caring for one another. You have to start early me thinks!

DeleteI wish I could talk to my parents too. We are scheduled to get our vaccines on Saturday. A friend got Covid just prior to getting the vaccine and did not know she had it until afterwards. She lost her smell too and that is why she got tested. I hope you just have a cold. Take care. I enjoyed your acrostic.
ReplyDeleteThe no-smell thing seems Covid related as that symptom is unusual. We have forgotten about all the normal maladies going around this time of year too though. The reactions to the vaccine are so varied...some have zero reaction and some feel like they have the flu. Take care and feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, your acrostic's soooo romantic! Terri, you're NOT whining; I think this pandemic is messing with everyone's minds. Tom seems to have what I think are unreasonable fears about the vaccine, so I've been on CDC's website -- and no, he's not the only one. I guess there's no such thing as a stupid question. Praying y'all feel better soon!

Oh no... hope you are feeling better soon. Have you tested to see if you got COVID? I keep hearing a lot of people getting it right before or a few days after the first vaccine.

ReplyDeleteRed carnations were not a choice, but they are always my favorite - for a very special reason. When Dick and I were long-distance dating and I had gone to spend my birthday weekend with him, things did not go well and I was very downhearted afterward. Two days later a florist delivered a bouquet of red carnations to my door - from him! I was so touched!!! I made them last a long time and I kissed each one of them every night before I went to sleep!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for how bad Joe is feeling. We did not have any side effects from our vaccine, thankfully. I have heard that more people do have side effects after the second one, so I'm hoping to not make any plans for that weekend.
