I wanted to pop in with an update. Our son has been delayed by a day or so, which is fine. He has his wife, his job, and the horse sanctuary up there in Georgia that required some extra attention today. I am doing okay. He will be here tomorrow or Thursday for sure.
The memorial service at church is all sorted. I approved the order of service and the cover for the handout. The church ladies are doing a dessert reception after the service so I have no worries there.
I have friends stopping in daily. Mornings and nights are still hard but I am being kept busy during the day. I feel the love and prayers all around me and know it is well with my soul, as it was with Joe's. That is one of the songs I chose for his service, by the way... It Is Well With My Soul. Also Blessed Assurance.
Thanks again for your prayers and kind words!! Love to all!!
Love those songs!
ReplyDeleteRick lost his brother Dec. 12 to Covid. My SIL says the same thing about the nights.
I know it must be hard.
Prayers and virtual hugs from me. sandie
That's one of my favorite hymns too. Still wrapping you prayer my friend. xx
ReplyDeleteLike you, mornings and evenings have been the hardest for me. More so the mornings as I wake anew to the realization of what I am having to face. It's a tough reality, and perhaps more so when it has happened so suddenly.
ReplyDeleteThe music you have chosen is so good. May the words just wash over your soul and help you through this.
Love you and praying for you throughout the days.
Thinking of you during this painful time..
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorite hymns as well. When we have the "blessed assurance" that "Jesus is mine"....we can honestly say, "It is well with my soul." That is a powerful testimony to God's grace and love working in you. I can only imagine how difficult the mornings and nights must be for you. For you and our mutual friend Barbara, neither of you had time to prepare for this sudden loss of your beloved mate. I know even when you do have time to prepare it is still difficult, but when everything is changed so quickly it really catches you off guard. May the grace of God be very real and personal...may you feel His Presence with you in those difficult times, and know that you are never alone. God is always with you, and He will provide all you need. But still, it hurts, and grief is not something you can just turn on and off at will. May the Lord continuously comfort you and give you strength for each new day. You are loved, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorite hymns. Blessed Assurance says it all. I am thinking and praying for you often.
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful hymns. Keeping you in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI love both of those hymns, Terri. They will fit the service beautifully. Prayers surrounding you!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, Terri. You are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteOh Terri; I am so sorry for your loss. I hadn't read your recent posts lately and just found out today about Joe. So very sorry to hear of his passing from covid, especially since the last post I saw was pretty much that you had gotten your 1st vaccine shots. Please know that you and your family are all in my prayers. God bless you all and keep you all safe.
ReplyDeleteGreat song choices! I know it's a relief to have finalized Joe's memorial service. I will be among those watching and sending my love.
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful songs, I would like both at my funeral service too.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are so surrounded with love!
I really love those two songs. We were singing Blessed Assurance the day Dick's dad was unresponsive. When we sang the words "visions of rapture now burst on my sight" I was thinking how appropriate! And when the song was over we felt for a pulse and he was gone. I think he had seen those visions of rapture.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, dear Terri!
The perfect songs Terri. So glad you are being well taken care of by your friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear your friends are taking care of you. *hug*
ReplyDelete{{{Terri}}} Keeping in prayer, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteI love the hymns you chose, two of my favorites. I'm glad you have caring friends nearby and are feeling the comfort of prayers being said on your behalf. Take care xo
