Well, I haven't been laying on the couch but I have been sitting in my recliner a lot more than I should. A weekend of Duo (android video) calling with Joe three or four times a day and not much else. I streamed church yesterday and it was nice that they prayed for Joe during the service. I am also blessed by so many people checking in, family and friends caring and praying for Joe and for me. Blessed.
Elaine and Jim invited me over for dinner last night. Of course, it was Valentine's Day and also Jim's birthday. He grilled steak on the grill which was tender and cut like butter. Elaine had baked beans and homemade potato salad with a birthday cake and ice cream afterward for dessert. Delicious. It was a socially distanced dinner on their screened-in porch and it was nice talking to humans instead of just the cats!!
Thankfully, I still don't have any symptoms of COVID but there is still a week to go for the 14 days of quarantine from the onset of Joe's illness. I sincerely believe the first shot of the vaccine is protecting me and making Joe's COVID not as bad as it could be. So far, his lungs are clear and he isn't needing oxygen. His heart and BP have been the biggest concerns. Everyone's prayers are SO appreciated.
Joe is doing better. His BP is back to normal (for him) and his heart is beating in a more normal range, though not as low as it should be. Hoping for good news from his doctor today!
Oh, so happy you are doing okay, and that you were able to be with Jim and Elaine yesterday for supper. That made your Valentine's Day more enjoyable, but not as great as you would have liked. Praying for Joe every day and trusting he will soon be able to come home. Wow! What a time you've had! Keep us posted...and we'll keep praying.

ReplyDeleteTerri, I've been keeping up and reading your posts on my phone, but for some reason when I comment from my phone they do not publish. So I'm finally at the computer this morning, and I just want you to know that I really hope and pray that Joe's heart can soon be well enough that he can go home. It's AMAZING and wonderful that he has had clear lungs! Surely that vaccine is working!

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear your hubs is ill. Is he hospitalized? I do hope his symptoms stay manageable. That's the frightening part of this virus, it seems no one knows how they will handle it until it's here. You stay well too!! I feel like these days we can pick it up anywhere including the local grocery, so unless people stay completely inside and at home it's out there. Take care!

ReplyDeleteDuo is an app on our phones and we can video call/talk. It works great and it has been great to be able to see him while we talk.
