The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thank you, Joyce, for today's questions!  Join all the Hodgepodgers HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 403

From this Side of the Pond

1. When were you last a guest at an event or in someone's home?  Our friends, Jim & Elaine, invited us to dinner just last Saturday.  Tell us about it.  It was a great time with delicious food and fun games!   Do you enjoy having guests in your own home?  We do enjoy having guests in our home and had a great time with two other couples on New Year's Eve, and four people for dinner on New Year's Day.

2. What has you 'tied up in knots' currently or recently?  All the hatred and lies and biased media has me tied up in knots.  All of that hate is not the America I know or want.  Are you any good at tying actual knots?  I am pretty good at knots but have forgotten how to do most of the ones I used to know.  Nautical knots for tieing up boats... long gone.  Macrame knots... long gone.

3. What's something you've been wanting to do and have decided 2021 will be the year you 'take the plunge'? Sorry, but I can't think of a thing.  Perhaps when this pandemic isn't such a threat we can schedule a little vacation to celebrate last year's 35th wedding anniversary.

4. Something in your home that's old?  Ha!  Nearly everything!!  Something new?  I bought a Blue Diamond skillet a few weeks ago to replace a copper one that caused everything to stick.   Something borrowed?  I see where this is going... MOB!!  Nothing borrowed, but Elaine borrowed cookie sheets this week.  Something blue?  My new Blue Diamond skillet is blue and, by the way, I love it!!

5. Share a favorite quote, a verse of scripture, and/or a bit of wisdom for couples getting married in this challenging and seemingly unpredictable season we're currently/still experiencing.  Communicate!!  Talk to each other and don't keep secrets. You have to talk!

6. Insert your own random thought here.  We are off to the farm (Joe's client) today. We haven't been for two weeks!  I am anxious to see our friends and all of the animals!!  Yes, there will be photos on Friday!

Peace & hugs!!  Jesus loves you!!

  1. You are so right about communication, Terri. Without it, relationships are not genuine and problems both develop and get worse.

Enjoy your time at the farm today!

  2. Enjoy your day at the farm. It looks like the weather will be nice. It's been cooler but we've still been getting out. It was only around 60 yesterday and there was hardly anyone at Blue Run park....everyone thinks that's too cold here! hahaha! Hugs!

  4. I think our whole country is one big knot right now. I love how Vice President Pence quoted the Bible verse about a time to heal. Truly it is a time to calm down and try to regroup. My side did not win but I know God is still on the Throne. I will trust in Him.

  6. Communication with one another is key, and so is honest dialogue. Too little of that going on in these distressing times.
Have a great day at the farm, Terri!
    Blessings!

  7. Politics and the news media has me in knots too,and you are so right, this is not the America I want. Maybe they all need to communicate better, stop the lies and ugliness. Looking forward the some new pics from the farm.

  8. I so agree with what you said about the state of our country. We don't get OAN, but Tom's coming around to watching Newsmax v. CNN. I never heard of Blue Diamond cookware, but will be checking it out. Love our copperware, but the big skillet does stick. Who needs more aggravation, right?!

  10. Thanks for the good wishes. I know it will be a happy day and it's fun to have something so positive to focus on during these trying times. Hubs and I are limiting everything coming in to the house in terms of news and social media right now. We want to feel joy on the day. Enjoy the farm!

  11. Love your answers. You are always so level headed and honest. I love that about you!! I saw a picture on Facebook that said America was born in 1776, and now it needs to be "born again". Amen to that!!!

  12. I'm tied up in knots over the same thing. Not listening too much to the news because it's so biased and gets me upset!
A blue diamond skillet? I never heard of that, will have to check it out.
I always enjoy your answers to these. :)

  14. I think most of us said the same thing about being tied up in knots. Hoping that something is going to turn our country around. Never heard of Blue Diamond. I've become a Copper Chef fan. Have a great weekend!
