Carrying on the tradition begun by Deb over at Breathing in Grace by posting photos from our week on Friday to share with our friends. As usual, my only new photos are from our visit to the farm (Joe's client) on Wednesday morning.
It is cold this week and was sure cold Wednesday morning. I didn't think we would see any cattle on the way in but we came upon two bulls blocking the lane...
They decided to not play 'chicken' with me and started to make way for the big car coming their way.
This one just stood there and dared me to come closer! LOL
The three horses were back in a middle pasture because there is a building where they can get in out of the cold and the wind. I was happy to see them there. They got carrot treats but I didn't get pictures until they were on their way, after the treats were gone. This is Doc.
This is Majesty and Vanna, with the chicken coop and horse trailer beside them...
The goats are in a pasture across the lane from the horses and they were all hopeful I had carrots left for them, but all they got from me were some pats and quiet words.
There is a pen full of baby chicks and they were huddled together under a heat lamp...
And always that view and a few cattle in the far pasture...
I sat in the office with Joe and Ann after I had visited the horses. All three little dogs were in there with us (and all of them got treats). Reese, the long-haired dachshund slept in my lap most of the time I was there. Couldn't even read my book! LOL Fine with me!
This is Arya. She was jealous of Reese and was also in my lap (both of them!) a few times.
And this is Kobe. I couldn't get him to be still enough for a good photo so just got his head.
And... not my photo but I swiped this from Mary on Facebook because I thought it was hilarious!
Today is my birthday! I have completed my 69th year on this earth. Wow. Praise God. I am being treated to lunch with my dear friend Shirley today and Joe is taking me out for crab legs tonight!! Tomorrow begins the first day of my 70th year. Of course, I get to say I am 69 all year, but it really is my 70th year ahead. I asked for a t-shirt for my birthday that announces I have survived the 60s twice. It is due to arrive today so I'll be sure to get a photo and post it on Monday for my weekend recap!!
Peace & hugs! Jesus loves you!!
Happy Birthday! As always love your farm pics.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day!
I laughed out loud at the cookie exchange. That picture of you and the doggie in your lap almost makes me want a dog.
ReplyDeleteI love it...survived the 60s twice. Happy Happy Happy Birthday! The dog is so cute in your lap. Animal lovers find their people. I haven't baked one cookie this month. I am going to remedy that very soon. After all it is December!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of that T-shirt! I should mention that to my kids. My turn to be your age will be in January.
ReplyDeleteThe look on the face of that dog who is lying in your lap is one of pure love! Enjoy your day!
The pictures were good this morning; love the chickens huddling together and the pups in your lap. I wish you the best birthday and know you will enjoy eating tonight and cant wait to see the t-shirt. Blessings
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Terri! When that T-shirt arrives, you'll have to have Joe take a picture of you wearing it. Enjoy your special day!
ReplyDeleteAs always I love your pictures from the farm. Totally love the dachshund sitting on your lap. I grew up with dachshunds, but unfortunately, hubby doesn't like them so, I don't get to have one now. But that's okay because I love our little lharkie. Can't wait to see you in the 60's shirt and I hope you have the best birthday ever Terri!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Happy Birthday, Terri! I didn't see that notice yet on Facebook...I'd better go look! And thank you for the lovely Christmas card we received in the mail. You are way ahead of me there, but not in age! I've completed my 70th year and am now working on the next decade! Doesn't seem possible, does it? We are both still SO YOUNG (at heart)! Love the doggies, chickies, horses and goats...and those stubborn bulls! LOL. Love that you get to do that every week! what a treat! Enjoy your weekend. And have a VERY HAPPY Birthday all day long!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Ah the beautiful blue Florida sky....special this time of year.... :)
ReplyDeleteLove the expression on Reese's face ... smitten! And how you've perfectly captured indignation.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY, dear friend!
That should read, Arya's indignation. :)
