Waiting All Day for Sunday Night
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!
Saturday 9: Waiting All Day for Sunday Night (2012)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This week's Saturday 9 has a football theme because there's a big game Sunday. Will you be watching? It will be on and I'll be watching for the commercials. LOL
2) The Super Bowl is a big day for food consumption in the US, second only to Thanksgiving. What's on your menu this weekend? Nothing special for the Super Bowl, but Grandson Tristan will be here this weekend (!!!!!) so I'll be cooking. Just not sure what yet.
3) The NFL has decreed that the Super Bowl will never be played in a city that has a median February temperature of less than 50ΒΊ. Would your hometown qualify for the Big Game? Since we live in Florida, yes, but our small city would not support a Super Bowl.
4) This version of the NFL theme song mentions the Steelers and the Broncos. During the regular season, which team do you root for? I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan, by marriage. How did they do in 2019? They did win the East but didn't make it through the playoffs this year.
5) This version of the Sunday Night Football song is by Faith Hill. She also has ties to the MLB, since her husband is Tim McGraw, son of the Mets' pitcher Tug McGraw. Which sport do you prefer -- baseball or football? Football.
6) Faith has performed live at more than one The Super Bowl in the past, performing both "America, the Beautiful" and "The Star-Spangled Banner." What's your favorite patriotic song? Our National Anthem gives me goosebumps. Proud To Be An American also gives me goosebumps.
7) She has a perfume line with Coty that was a big seller at CVS during Christmas 2018. What's the last item you bought at a drugstore? Mucinex.
8) Faith Hill is the producer of a talk show on CMT called Pickler and Ben. Is the TV on as you answer these questions? Yes. Our TV is usually on. If so, what are you watching? We DVR most shows and we are watching Last Man Standing right now.
9) Random question: You've got a chip in your hand and three dips to choose from -- guacamole, salsa, and onion. Where does your chip get dipped? I like them all, but chips go best with onion dip. You need Scoops or other corn chips for guacamole and salsa.
π Thanks for your visit! Hello February! π
Peace & hugs! God bless!!

Somehow I have lost interest in the Super Bowl so I wont be watching unless like you, I turn it on for the commercials. I know you will be happy to see Tristan and get to cook for him. I love the National Anthem and get those chill bumps too when I hear it. God bless the USA is another I enjoy. Happy Saturday and weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a visit from your grandson! I hope you enjoy your time together.
ReplyDeleteI am an old Philly girl so have to hope for Kansas,,,,, I recall a lot of great parties with wonderful friends... then the puppy bowl at half time.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched Super Bowl in years. We do enjoy putting on Puppy Bowl. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the Super Bowl here...we have already seen the commercials (they are online, btw). I bet you are excited to see Tristan, smiles.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, friend. smiles
Love Lee Greenwood's "Proud to be an American" so much. Hope I'm wrong, but the commercials' teasers I've seen look a bit disappointing. So glad Tristan's visiting -- I'm looking forward to hearing all about it, Terri. Have fun!
ReplyDelete#4 We cheer for the Denver Broncos (of course) but this was a terrible year for them.
ReplyDelete#9 Onion dip.
We’ll have the game on. Tom will always cheer for any team that opposes Kansas City. We like John Lynch, General Manager of the SF 49ers. He played on the Broncos years ago and is an all-round good guy (a Christian, too).
We watch Last Man Standing also. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

I like to see some of the commercials. But I do not watch the games. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeletewow, so happy your grandson is here! That is so wonderful for you all. Loved your answers. I don't watch the game, but would like to see a few commercials, but hubby usually mutes them. Not planning anything special. We usually go to church on Sunday night, so I am not sure what we'll be doing as of this moment. We shall see what happens. I like onion dip on potato chips, and salsa on tortilla chips. No guacamole for me, thank you! Have a great weekend and visit with Tristan.
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching the commercials with you.
ReplyDeleteWe will most definitely be watching the Super Bowl, and I always love the commercials, too. And to have your grandson with you? That's an extra special treat, Terri. Enjoy every moment!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Chips with onion dip, tortilla chips with salsa!
ReplyDeleteWe are not football fans, so will not be watching. :)
We don't watch the NFL anymore, so the Super Bowl isn't going to be on at our house. I think I will take a nap after church, then maybe watch an old movie in the evening.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great time with your grandson.
And, yes, to all 3 dips! I love chips and dips, though I agree, tortilla chips are needed for guac and salsa.
