Friday Photos....

I am continuing the Friday Foto tradition
by posting some photos from my week...

We have been spending too much time visiting the pharmacy
(and too much money!) lately....

Wednesday morning we went to the farm (Joe's client).
It was a very cloudy day. No rain while we were
there, but we had rain on the way home.

The cattle were out as we drove in!  They were
nowhere to be seen last week so it was fun seeing them again!

I love seeing the little ones!!

And there is always at least one that is on the lane and
makes us wait for him/her to move.

This was the first time I saw sandhill cranes in the
horse pasture! There were three of them.
Sorry I couldn't get a better shot.

There are also still cattle in the horse pasture.
Pistol got to me first and then Doc saw me and
started walking toward the gate.
They know the carrot lady when they see her!

Majesty is in a different pasture, but she neighed at
me when I was treating Doc and Pistol so I
had to walk over there (Yay!! I could walk over there!)
He got some carrots and a few apple pieces too!

Doc and Pistol wanted more!  I told them
they had to wait until next week. Ha ha.

More cattle by the lane on the way out. I wish they
weren't so skittish.  I open the window to take the
pictures and talk to them...
Joe just shakes his head at me.

Yesterday, Joe had a post-op appointment with the
cardiac surgeon's PA, Jaimie.  She told Joe that
he can resume all normal activities.  Much of the instructions
he received apply to open-heart valve procedures so
he has no lifting restrictions after all.  That made me happy!
I've been fetching and hauling for two weeks! LOL

This is a view of our beautiful Lake Morton as we
were leaving the hospital and heading home.

That brick building is our Chamber of Commerce,
facing beautiful Lake Morton!
Lake Morton is our bird sanctuary lake, where
nearly 80 swans live, as well as many other
water birds.  One of Lakeland's gems!

Caught a couple of the swans in this photo.

Thanks for your visit!  Wishing you a great weekend ahead!

Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  1. So glad that you and Joe are both getting so much better, and that Joe now has NO restrictions! That is such a blessing and an answer to many prayers! Praise God! Love your pictures of the cattle, horses, and yes I can see the Sand Hill Cranes. I love that the horses know you and that you give them that extra attention! What fun. The cows couldn't care less. Lakeland appears to be such a beautiful city. Swans! How lovely! Someone was just telling me about someone who moved to some city down south of here, and they couldn't remember the name, but knew it had swans! I said, it must be Lakeland, and I was right! So, see? I've learned something from you! Someday I would love to come and see for myself and see YOU as well. Someday... Have a blessed and happy weekend!

    1. Pam, you are welcome anytime and we DO have a comfortable guest room and guest bathroom so you could make it an over-night if you want. We would love to give you the tour of our beautiful city and you could check in at the UMC conference center too! It is beautiful and overlooks Lake Wire. Come one down!

  2. As ever, I love your captions! Whenever I see calves (so cute) I think of 'Norman' -- Billy Crystal's rescue in City Slickers.
The "carrot lady", huh? Pretty neat nickname!

  5. So glad Joe had a good report. Hoping you can enjoy the holidays before your next knee replacement. Loved seeing your beautiful area. I believe I told you that my nephew's girlfriend goes to college in Lakeland. She will be at the wedding we are going to next weekend. She really loves it there.

    1. We have Florida Southern College (Methodist) and Southeastern University (Church of God). It is probably one of those, unless it is Florida Polytech (pretty new).

  7. Glad you got a good report. The pictures of the lake are so pretty. I didn't know that about swans there, and I do love learning new things. Aren't cows just the cutest? - sort of like big dog faces.

  11. There is a possibility your sandhill cranes are "snowbirds" from Wisconsin!

    Have a blessed day!
