Monday's Weekend Recap...

We had a fun and busy weekend!!  On Friday we took another couple from here in Mas Verde to Mazzaro's Italian Market in St. Petersburg.  Word is getting around that it is a great place to find some really good food and unusual gifts.  Steve and Jane play Nickels with us on Friday nights.  They are 'snowbirds' from North Carolina and have spent winters here for 16 years!  They are so nice and are lots of fun.  I think they enjoyed the day (they said so over and over, anyway).  I drove and they treated us for lunch. It was a treat!

Joe is standing by "The Big Cheese" at Mazzaro's.  They order a
1,000-pound provolone cheese every year and cut it a couple of weeks
before Christmas.  This one has been aged for 2 years.  It is HUGE!

It is mandatory for anyone we introduce to Mazzaro's to pose at the
Vespa photo op.  Steve and Jane were good sports.

There is a new photo op there now and they posed in it too!!  LOL

Saturday was Mas Verde's Thanksgiving get-together at the clubhouse.  Our HOA provides the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy.  Everyone else brings a dish to share.  I took my Jiffy Corn Casserole and it was nearly gone. I'm making it for our Thanksgiving too.  It was a very fun event and the count was 147 people attending.

These two ladies are my good buddies!  Anne (left) lives across the street and
Jill (right) lives next door.  Anne and Paul are full-time residents while
Jill and Murray come down from Canada for the winter.
We love them all!

Anne is talking with Jill's sister, Judy and her hubby Tim.

The three amigos...

It was a nice crowd and the food was all delicious!

At one point, everyone was looking out the windows at the beautiful sunset.  A few of us
got up and went outside to snap a photo.  This picture doesn't do it justice.

I lifted this photo from the HOA Facebook page.  Someone caught me laughing at something
Jill said!  That's me in the middle, in the orange top.

And I lifted this one too, of Jill talking to Joe.

We went to Sunday school and church yesterday, then had Helen and Cheryl over for lunch after church.  Helen loves ham and bean soup so I make it every  2-3 months.  I put it in the crockpot before we left.  We stopped at Publix for cornbread muffins and a dessert carrot cake so I didn't bake like I usually do.  There just wasn't time.  We all enjoyed the meal and I sent the leftovers home with them.

Today Joe has fasting labs, I will get some cleaning and laundry done.  I think our young fellas from church will be around some time to get our decorations out of the shed's loft area.  Hoping we can get that done because the rest of the week is just crazy for us.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and sharing our blessings with friends!

Thanks for your visit today!  Peace & hugs!  God bless!!

  6. Good to see both of you out and about. I would have been looking at the sunset too. Florida has some of the best.

  8. LOVE the expression on Joe's face (next to the cheese tower). That almost begs a caption, doesn't it? Love the blouse you're wearing at the Mas Verde dinner!

Yes, I hear you about a busy week ahead - for us, too, so not sure if I'll get back by here.
