Saturday 9 with Kenny Loggins...

Heart to Heart

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Heart to Heart (1982)

Unfamiliar with this week's song. Hear it here.

1) With whom did you most recently have a "heart-to-heart" talk?  Joe.  Always my go-to person!

2) When this song was on the charts, audiences were tuning in to a TV show called Hart to Hart. Are you familiar with it?  I am familiar with it but never watched it.

3) In the music video, Kenny Loggins plays an illustrator. It’s said that the hardest thing to draw is a straight line because all the joints in your hand have to work together in sync. Can you draw a straight line, without the aid of a ruler or a straight edge?  I can draw a passable straight line but not perfect without a ruler or straight edge.

4) This video also prominently features teddy bears. A 2018 article in the NY Post estimates that 4 in 10 adults have a plush toy of his/her own. Are you one of the 40%?  I have a handmade hedgehog that my friend Teena made for me.  It 'lives' on the table next to my recliner in the living room and makes me happy when it catches my eye!

5) Kenny Loggins performed in a tribute to Aretha Franklin at Carnegie Hall. Do you have a favorite Aretha Franklin song?   I am a huge fan of Aretha.  Of course, RESPECT came to mind first.

6) Kenny co-wrote this song with Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers. You can also hear Michael on the background vocals. Do you have a favorite Doobie Brothers song?  I am a big fan of the Doobies too and like a lot of their songs.  I had this album... with What a Fool Believes on it.

7) The third co-writer is David Foster. 1982 was a big year for Foster since Chicago had a big hit with another of his compositions, “Hard to Say I’m Sorry.” Do you have a favorite Chicago song?  These songs and performers are all from my teen years. Loved Chicago too!!  How about this one... Saturday in the Park!

8) In 1982, when this song was popular, Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide killed 7 people in Chicago. In response, tamper-proof packaging was introduced. What’s the last thing you opened that required you break a seal?  The last thing was a bottle of hot sauce, actually, but there are seals on most everything these days. I guess it's okay but a shame there are crazy people out there trying to hurt other people.

9) Random question – You’re having a party. Which guest annoys you most: the one who arrives 20 minutes early, or the one who shows up 20 minutes late?  If it is a party and not dinner the person who arrives 20 minutes early would annoy me a bit.  If it was dinner, I would put them to work setting the table and then be upset at the 20-minutes late person (who might get cold food!).

Thanks to Crazy Sam for yet another fun Saturday 9!!  You can visit and link-up HERE!!

I hope you are having a good Saturday!  Wishing you a Sunday full of blessings!

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Peace & hugs!!  God bless!!

  12. These are always such fun and interesting questions. Oh, yeah, Doobies and Chicago...a trip back to high school for me. What a Fool Believes was out my sophomore year. Every time I hear that song on the oldies station, I am transported back to high school.

    Happy weekend to you!
