1. The first week of October is National Mystery Series Week. Do you sleuth alongside Nancy Drew or Miss Marple? I LOVED Nancy Drew when I was a kid and read 52 of the books (that was how many she wrote before I quit reading). Never got into Miss Marple. Fan of Nero Wolfe? Not sure who Nero Wolfe is.
2. The first week of October is also National Chili Week. Do you plan on celebrating with a bowl of red? I made a big pot of chili last week and we ate it for two days. It was good. Have a top-secret recipe to share? I don't have a secret recipe. I just throw it together. Hamburger, kidney beans, tomato sauce and lots of chili powder.
3. October 2nd is National Name Your Car Day. Does your car or did a family car have a name? Several of my friends' named their cars but I have never given a name to one of my/our cars.
4. Today is also National Walk To School Day. Did you walk to school with your friends? I did walk to school. We lived one block from the school. Take the school bus? I rode a school bus to football games with the band for away games. Ever have someone carry your books home from school? Nope. I always did that myself.
5. And it is National Pumpkin Seed Day. Do you like pumpkin seeds? Not especially. Do you carve the pumpkin and roast the seeds? I don't carve anymore and have never roasted the seeds. Do you buy packaged, prepared pumpkin seeds? Nope. Or more of a pumpkin spice person? Shocking, but I am not a pumpkin lover. I like my mom's pumpkin bread recipe and one piece of pie on Thanksgiving. That's it.
6. Please tell us something interesting about your week. I am driving again!!! Yay!!! We have a friend who moved into Mas Verde last weekend. Invited her for dinner on Monday night. She lost her husband a few months ago and needed a new place to live. She asked me about Mas Verde and now she lives right down the street!
Peace & hugs!! God bless!!
.

So glad you are driving again! Too hot for me to eat chili in my neck of the woods. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOn the road again … wheeeee! I hope this is your friend who was going to tag you and Joe (re. the comp lot rent)? This time of year I always long for pumpkin pie, but one or two slices and I'm, "OK. I'm good for another year."
ReplyDeleteYes, Myra. It is our friend who got us two-months' free lot rent!! Whooohooo!! This month and next. Sure helps!
DeleteYay on driving again!
ReplyDeleteI read Nancy Drew when I was a kid. I enjoy mystery books + movies. My Mom read Nero Wolfe books but I never have.
I love pumpkin spice but the only things I eat with it are yogurt + pie.
Have a great day!
I just ran across this today I had been missing it so much.. It is a great meme!!! And it is wonderful to see you "Up and about" ... I know it must be a wonderful feeling to be able to drive again! Keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear you are driving again!! Also, how cool to have your friend move close to you.
ReplyDeleteI know you are glad to be driving. Life is coming back to normal.I like chili - not so much pumpkin seeds. I do love pumpkins tho. I read those 52 Nancy Drew books in one summer - I loved them - wish I had kept them. Sandie
ReplyDelete52 Drew books! I had no idea there were so many of them. I think almost everyone loved Nancy Drew. Its great you are driving again and I hope you continue to do well. How nice about your friend moving in down the street. T hat is really great :)
ReplyDeleteDriving again? That's great news, Terri! I've never cared for anything pumpkin, except maybe bread, and with as hot as it is right here in GA, the last thing I want to think about is chili. Oh, how I'm waiting impatiently for the temps to drop. Nice to know, too, that an old friend has moved close by; I know you and Joe will be of such comfort to her.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, and hope to see you round my blog soon!
You're already driving again?? Wow Terri, great strides! Fun to see the Medley alive and well.
ReplyDeleteCongrats for driving again already!
ReplyDeleteWell, I love all things pumpkin enough for both of us. So happy you have your wheels back. Continue making stride towards complete recovery.
ReplyDeleteYay for driving again!
ReplyDeleteI never named my cars but my daughter does and so does a friend.
I was a huge Nancy Drew fan, and often read the Hardy boys too because my brother always had them in the house.
