I have written about playing Nickels on Friday nights and that our winter friends are back so we finally have enough people to play again! The wife of one couple, MJ, crochets beautifully. I have seen in our neighbors' homes a crocheted "doily" with their names worked in. I really never gave it a second thought, but when MJ and Ernie got back and came to Nickels two weeks ago MJ handed me a package that had this in it!! Wow! I didn't want the cats sitting on it if I put it out as a runner or doily, so I took it to Hobby Lobby to have it framed. They did a beautiful job and I finally got it hung up yesterday. Our name is LONG. This baby is 36" long and 8" high. We LOVE it. I was so touched by her generosity. I crochet so I know what went into doing this! Wow. We are so very blessed and thankful to have such good neighbors/friends here.
We are also thankful that we got to go to the ranch (Joe's client) yesterday. It has been three weeks. The weather was beautiful and the sky was gorgeous! Joe isn't allowed to lift more than five pounds for a month, then not more than 20 pounds until February! Guess who got to tote his computer to the office for him! I was happy to and praise God that it didn't make my knee hurt and that he is doing so well!! We count our blessings and praise God daily!
Please visit Rebecca Jo and visit others who also post their blessings. It is always so uplifting!
Thanks for your visit!! Peace & hugs!! God bless!!

I am so glad to hear that Joe is doing well enough to be out and about. Even if he can only lift 5 pounds, I know you are very happy to have him out of the hospital.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely gift from your friend. And framing it was a really neat idea.
By the way, what kind of game is Nickels?
The doily is beautiful and what a thoughtful gift. Glad to hear Joe was well enough to go to the farm. Have a happy day.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those that says GRIMM that my aunt crocheted for me. It is indeed a treasure.
ReplyDeleteThe crochet work is just gorgeous! How nice to get it framed so that you can really enjoy it! Lots of be thankful for today! The weather is supposed to cool tomorrow! YAY! That will be so nice! Enjoy your day sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteDoily is beautiful. I'm glad you + Joe are doing better.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
That crochet work is amazing! What a lovely gift! So happy you and Joe are on the mend!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gift!! Shows a lot of love and it looks great framed!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful sky...love that picture. Also love your crocheted name...Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat crochet work is so pretty! You do have a lot to be thankful for. My sister lives in Florida in the winter and just returned there last week. She is happy to see all of her winter friends again. I can't wait to go visit in January!
ReplyDeleteWhere in Florida?
DeleteThat crochet sampler(?) looks terrific! Such thoughtful friends you and Joe are enjoying in Mas Verde!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and thoughtful gift from MJ (like those initials), Terri! Glad you framed it to protect it from the wanton, but lovable, cats. Happy to know Joe is improving daily, and that your new knee isn't letting you down. Lots to be thankful for!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
What a wonderful and thoughtful gift! It's beautiful and it looks so nice in the frame.
ReplyDeleteOK... Color me impressed. What a precious gift!!! I love you got it framed to -you know all the hard work & time that went into that gift for you. You are blessed with such good friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm telling you - if I were near, I have no idea how to play Nickels, but I'd learn quick to join in :)
What a beautiful "doily"...so lovely, and so special that it is handmade especially for you, with your nice "long" name! I love that you had it framed...that will keep it nice forever...and it can be seen so much better that way. So glad you were able to go to the farm again. Really an answer to prayer that Joe is doing so well!! Happy Halloween to you all too! I'm glad it's over...we had a LOT of kids in our neighborhood, and I did not buy enough candy, so had to turn off the light a lot sooner than I wanted to. Next year I will know better! I'd better start saving my "nickels" for the candy we'll need to buy! LOL. Remember when it used to cost just a nickel for a candy bar? Gone are those days...Anyway, it was fun to see the kiddos. Where we lived before we never had any come since it was so dark and in the woods. So this was fun. Have a blessed evening and weekend...
ReplyDeleteWe have a similar crocheted piece framed with our last name, although since my name is considerably shorter than yours, the frame is not as big. Ours was a gift from our daughter-in-law's mother when the kids got married. She made one for her daughter and one for us.
ReplyDeleteYours looks really great.
