Weekend Recap on Monday...

We had another very relaxing weekend with no appointments.  It was wonderful given what the next few weeks have in store for us.

The grocery shopping got done, the laundry got done, and some cleaning got done.

On Friday, I had a FB message from an acquaintance of mine. I won't say we are friends, but she is one of those community go-getters who volunteers, leads organizations, and raises money for them.  We have belonged to the same organizations at one time or another over the past 20 years or so.  Her husband died a few months ago and she is looking for a place to downsize and remembered that we had moved to Mas Verde.  (I believe she is probably mid-70s)  Of course, I told her how happy we are to be part of this community and that she should make an appointment to look at some of the new houses coming in.

She did just that on Saturday and I told her to stop in if she had time.   She saw a house she really likes and did stop by for 45 minutes or so. It was good to catch up and to reinforce how much she would enjoy it here. She will keep us posted after her current house closes later this week and she meets with her financial advisor.  I advised her that if she buys a new home and confirms that we referred her, we get a free month's lot rent!!  (We own our homes here, but pay a lot rent each month, so a free month would be wonderful!!)

We went to Sunday School and Church yesterday. Still loving it at Redeemer PCA.

Today we are again free but we have at least one appointment each day the rest of this week, including my pre-op appointment in Tampa on Friday. Sorry if you are sick of my knee surgery references.  It is just first and foremost in my mind these days, closely followed by Joe's coming TAVR procedure in September.

We are still yearning for your prayers and feeling blessed that our son, Joey, can come down during Joe's procedure.  I really hate that Darlene can't come with him, but they have quite a few animals to care for now and not enough volunteer help to allow them to both be away for more than a day.  I think there are five horses, two mini-horses, a donkey and three goats... and their two dogs.  PLUS, Darlene's 90-year old mom lives with them.  She is self-sufficient but would need someone to stay at the house with her.  When I can drive again, we will get up there for another visit before my second knee gets done.  I miss her!

Thanks for checking in today!  Peace & hugs!!

God bless!!

  1. Yes, we have got you on our prayer list as these surgeries approach. This is a concerning time while also there is relief these medical things are getting taken care of.

A month's free lot rent! That would be good news!

That's so nice of you to let your FB buddy check out the area. I hate to hear of her loss... always so sad.

  12. Sounds like you have a very busy rest of the month and next month coming, so it is good you were able to rest this weekend and get the essentials taken care of. That is neat about the lady who may decide to relocate to your community. It sounds like such a great place to live. I am so happy for you and Joe to have found it at this time in your lives. God's timing IS perfect, isn't it? Praying for you as you continue to get ready for the surgery and for Joe's procedure as well. So glad his son can come down during that time. He will be a real blessing for both of you. Take care and don't overdo it in the meantime.

Gosh, I wish we were closer and might volunteer at Darlene's sanctuary. Heaven!
