I haven't seen Vanna and Majesty in a few weeks. They are in the
pasture next to Doc and Pistol, now, so they got some
carrots too.
No close-ups of Doc and Pistol, but here they are in
the pasture after they got their carrots.
I didn't see Arya this trip but did see Kobe, Reece, Roho, and this beautiful boy, Tex.
"
One of the "kids" was visiting from California with her hubby and three kids. It was nice to finally
meet them! They headed out in one of the ATVs to see if they could find some animals.
When they returned they said they saw cattle and a few deer.
This flower was blooming by the patio where I usually sit. Not sure what it is. I don't know
flowers from weeds, but had to take a picture!
This is one of the workers at the farm who feeds and cares for the animals. She had just
given Barbie a bath and was combing out her mane. Barbie is around 30 years old. She is
an old gal who is gentle and is the horse all the kids learned to ride on. She doesn't have
to give rides anymore and is just living out her years. She got a carrot too.
Mallow got some apple from me. She says "Pretty Bird" and also calls Kobe.
The two baby parrots are learning and both came to the perch to get their apple pieces.
Karma is mean and will bite, unlike the newbies above. He did get his apple slice though.
Joe and I were hungry after we left the farm and stopped at our favorite Palace Pizza. Joe had two slices and I had a lunch portion of spaghetti and meat sauce. Yum!! While we were
eating, the owner (in the glasses) and the other employees all sat down for their meal of
what looked like pasta with Alfredo sauce. I wanted some of that when I saw it!! Next time!
Yesterday, some medical equipment was delivered to our house by Kevin. I got an "ice machine" and some cuffs for my calves that blow up and massage to keep the blood moving after surgery. The ice machine is really cool (no pun intended). It flows cooled water through a knee brace for 50 minutes at a time so we don't have to deal with messy ice bags all the time. He showed me how it works and I wanted to just keep it on my knee for a while. It felt great!
So, while most of you are reading this I will be in Tampa for my pre-op stuff. We start out at the doctor's office for a clinic there and then we go to the hospital (Tampa General) for whatever else they need. It is all becoming very real now!!
Thanks for peeking in today! Peace & hugs!!
God bless!!

Wonderful photos, Terri. Thanx. I wonder if any of the parrots know the formula about male baldness?
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
If they do know, Victor, they're not talking!!
DeleteLove the pictures, as always. That knee thing will be wonderful. When Tim had his knee surgery last year he got something similar. It isn't an electric pump, but the same principle. It uses a gallon size insulated jug that I'd fill with ice water. Gravity made the water flow through a hose to the wrap on his knee. It would stay cold for 5 or 6 hours. We kept the thing just in case we ever need it again.
ReplyDeleteI am only renting that equipment and thankfully, Medicare is paying for it. Kevin told us the machine costs $3,500. Wow! I bought the other things and can use them when I get my left knee done in November. This "ice machine" also uses water. We have to fill the reservoir when it gets low.
DeleteKeeping you in prayer, Terri. smiles
ReplyDeleteThinking of you as you approach your challenge... Wonderful pics and so nice you can enjoy the farm...
ReplyDeleteI always love your farm pics. That's a cute pic of Tex.
ReplyDeleteThe ice machine does sound great. Not messing with melting ice or cold packs that don't stay cold for long sounds wonderful.
Enjoyed your visit to the farm, Teri...hope everything went well at the clinic and hospital.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
Praying all goes very well with the surgery and recovery. I know you will be a good patient.
ReplyDelete30 years old... what a sweet ole gal!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat first pic - I thought it was our Cochese!! Funny how much they look alike
Oh, that precious Barbie! So glad to know she's allowed to live out the years she has left with such love and care. And who can beat the look on Tex's face?
ReplyDeleteYes, Terri, the surgery is getting more real each day, and it looks like the equipment you were brought will be so helpful in recovery. What a relief!
Praying for you!
Barefoot?? :-) yikes...
ReplyDeleteOh, Barbie's stolen my heart!
ReplyDelete… and Tex isn't far behind! Funny, fitting name for a cranky parrot, no?
Love how technology is constantly aiding and abetting (*smile*) patients' recoveries!
The flower is a hibiscus. So pretty! I love the pic of Tex!
ReplyDeleteYou are getting there - getting everything ready. Glad you got to spend a little time at the farm.
Thanks, Mari. I almost said it might be a hibiscus but thought I would be wrong. Sure was pretty!!
DeleteLove all the pics! Dick posted pictures of a hibiscus earlier this summer, asking what it was, and various people told him. Such a beautiful flower!
ReplyDeleteThat ice machine sounds wonderful!
