Friday Five
Hi! I'm your
host Bev Sykes of the blog "Funny the World". . Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This
feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all
types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is
that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions.
(Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud).
Cheers to all of us thieves!
1. Have you
ever had a great conversation with a complete stranger? I don't know about "great" but I have had some good conversations with complete strangers.
2. Where did you go on the very first vacation of your life? To a fishing camp in Canada with my family.
3. Open the door of your refrigerator. What is the first thing you see? Orange juice.
4. What is your favorite place in your home? My recliner, in the living room. Ahhhh.
5. If you had wings to fly about the universe, where is the first place you’d land? That thought doesn't even get me excited. I have no idea.
6. What is the first thing you do when you get in your car? Start the engine... then the seatbelt.
7. What is special about the town you live in? Where do I start? There is no place I would rather live. We have it all. A friendly, philanthropic population, a perfect location, beautiful parks, wonderful museums, shops, stores, restaurants, theater, sports, higher education, churches, synagogs, temples.... and close to Orlando and Tampa and all those attractions. One hour from the Gulf beaches and 90 minutes from the Atlantic beaches. Who could ask for more? How about 75 degrees in January and February? We love it.

8. What is the last thing you heard about your first love? That he died.
9. If you had created the world in seven days yourself, what would you have created on the First Day? Let's just not go there. I have no idea and no aspirations to be God.
10. How do you beat the summer heat? Yes, our summers are hot and humid (like so many others). I stay inside where there is air conditioning.
11. Did you enjoy your Senior Year in high school? It was okay, but 10th & 11th grades were more fun. My best friend was a year ahead of me in school. I did have fun spending a weekend or two with her at Ohio State though!
12. Who is your favorite First Lady of all time? Barbara Bush and Melania Trump. Can't just name one.
13. Post a link to your first blog post. My first blog post was in 2007 on Yahoo360 which is long gone. Then I moved to Multiply, which is also long gone. My first blogger post is HERE. August 2010.
14. When was the last time you needed First Aid? I need bandaids all the time - at least once a week but nothing more than that in a long time, thank goodness.
15. Can you explain what a first down is in football? Yes, I can!! When the team who has possession of the football makes a play, they have four tries to move the ball 10 yards to pick up another first down. As long as they keep moving the ball and getting 1st downs, they retain possession and can hopefully make a touchdown (if it is your team!). It is usually much more difficult than that sounds.
That's another Sunday Stealing! Thanks for your visit today!
Peace & hugs!! God bless!!

Have you ever had a great conversation with a complete stranger?
ReplyDeleteStrangers now avoid me ever since I started eating mayonnaise and Oreos on the bus, or train, or in the park or ...
God bless.
You always make Lakeland sound like a wonderful place to live. If we ever retire to the south....
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed Sunday, Terri!
Come on down!! You can stay with us while you look for a place!
DeleteHave a great day!
ReplyDeleteBig smiles here...I really enjoyed your answers, I always do, smiles.
ReplyDeleteWhen Karl and I took Josh to Disneyworld, we did some great shopping in Orlando. The outlet malls here are just not as good. I bought so many clothes for Josh. I have at times wanted to jump on a plane and head to Orlando to shop. Loved your answers! Have a great day!

Next time you are down, please let me know! We are 40 minutes from all that Disney stuff!
Delete"What is the last thing you heard about your first love? That he died."
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a line from a very sad movie. I can imagine a young...whose that girl who was married to Frank Sinatra? No the other one. Lauren Bacall! I can imagine a young Lauren Bacall saying it. It really makes you think about the passage of time, doesn't it?
Yes. I lost touch with him for many years and then discovered him on FB. He was married with kids and seemed happy. I was glad because he had a tough time for a few years after high school. Then, just months later, I learned that he died suddenly.
DeleteYour town sounds perfect, Terri. Now if it weren't for the hot weather in Florida, I wouldn't mind living there! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWonderful response to #9! My recliner elicits "Ahhhh's", as well. Aren't we blessed?
ReplyDeleteIndeed!!
DeleteI love having conversations with strangers. I find there are lots of nice people out there.
ReplyDeleteI love your happy posts - happy in your marriage, family, town and new church!
#7 regarding what's special about the town where you live. Everybody, I've seen it. Terri and Joe gave us a wonderful tour. She is 100% correct!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sometimes I think we get carried away with our "tours" and there is so much more to see! :)
DeleteFun comments. I agree about where I live. Nowhere better. I finally got a smallish recliner and it is truly the best. I can't believe I didn't do that decades ago. I simply love kicking my feet up. I agree wholeheartedly on your answers for First Ladies!
